Committee The following members of the Student Council were elected to represent the high school on the high school service committee of the Community P.T.A.: Carl Walker, Dave Fantus, Mary Etheridge, Dan Saldino, John Olson, Judy Gregory, Ardis May and Sherry Evans. Troop 162 committee held its first meeting of the 1957-1958 season, with chairman Leo Thompson presiding and about ten Scout fathers participating The program for the season previously adopted by the boys was discussed and approved. Then on Thursday evening, Nov. 7, with about thirty. Scouts and ten fathers attending, we initiated our program with a toy repair project to provide toys for needy children for Christmas. If anyone has any toys that can be repaired or have outlived their usefulness for any reason, we would appreciate receiving them to work on. Take them to the old Junior high school any Hiursday evening between 7:30 and 9 p.m. or call 1854-W or 1855 and one of our Scouts will pick them up. v The unit board of review also met and passed Fred Durrenberg to Explorer Apprentice, Dennis Martell and Jack Meyer to first class Scouts and Mike Dillon. Mike Gausden, Jim Braun and Jim Benson to second class Scouts. Hie boys are to be con~ gra tula ted upon their achievement and the board looks forward to seeing them in the near future to attain even higher rank. Troop 162 meets every Thursday evening from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the old Junior High School under the direction of Scoutmaster Laurence (Andy) Anderson and the troop patrol leaders. Parents and especially fathers are always welcohie to attend any of the meetings. • Pep Club Organized MCHS has a powerful Pep club of over 200 cheering members. A Pep club ' code was drawn up wfiich emphasizes good sportsmanship, friendliness, respectfulness, and self-discipline. Each ^yember Was given a membership card which the member must forfeit if he does not come to at least three home games and three out of town games. Wrestling Match On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Warrior wrestling teams play host to Crystal Lake. Our wrestling" team is rated as one of the best so let's" have a good turn-out for the <0fcatch which starts at 7 p.m. ' A View of an Abused Attention all Scouts and Scout-, ers. Plans are now under way for our big event in February, which is the father and son banquet. The unit leaders promise a bigger and better banquet than ever before. Hugh Kirk was made general chairman and would appreciate any help you can give him. The program will be centered around the boys, with one of them being selected as master .of ceremonies. Start thinking about attending and talk it up. Scribe 4-H NEWS The McHenry F.F.A. chapter started its annual pest control contest recently.
