ROBBERY IN AREA mips on lraf f ic Safety CHARLES F. CARPENTIER Sccrctary of State Drivers should be particularly alert when behind a steering wheel during two periods of each day. A surrey reveals that there are two peak periods daily for fatal accidents. They, are between 5 and 9 P.M. and between 2 and 6 A.M. Statistics reveal that the late afternoon and early evening rush hours are especially dangerous during dark winter months. This is true for both motorists and pedestrians. Darkness, rain, sleet and enow are often added hazards which • take their toll. These same statistics reveal that these hours are nearly 50 per cent more dangerous during the winter months. Another warning sign is the fact that on week-ends during the winter, the accident rate is six times greater than the average of all other hours of the year. The fact that the morning rush traffic, between 7 and 10, does not rank aB dangerous a period as the others do is attributed to the fact that motorists are rested and the risibility is good. Bykowski learned the identity of the youths at the tavern where he purchased the beer and the arrest was made at the Ricker home. Each was held under $3,- 500 bond. O.E.S. We had a nice erowd on the sidelines too. This must have made Gertrude feel nice because it was her last meeting. After Dee. 7, which is installation of new officers, Olga will be in charge.
