A dance contest was held and winners were Tom Jessie" and Kathleen Sweeney in the jitter- bug class and Kathleen Sweenr ||v also copped the prize for the wailtz with Jerry Dring as her partner. There were also games for entertainment and a lunch was served. * Congratulations tp Mr. and Mrs. John Sheets on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. A gathering of thp family and a few relatives was held at the home of their daughter. Mrs. Charles Smith on Saturday night to help ^)em celebrate. Thanksgiving day guests in the Clarence i Miller honle were the Edward May family and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Smith and family. Tillie May, Mrs. Alice"Wagner and Mrs. Frances Shotliff. Refreshments were served by the hostess after bards. ^ Christian Mothers sodality held their regular meeting, cpi Thursday of last week at St. Peter's ^parish hall. Plans were discussed for a Christmas party which will be held on Dec. 19. It will be pot luck and a gift exchange. Santa, too will- make his appearance. After the meeting there were cards and bunco and prizes were awjarded the .winners. Refreshments were served. Linda Lange Married Nov. 28 To Ronald Murphy St. Peter's church at Spring «*ove was the scene of a very etty wedding on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. when Miss Linda Louise Lange, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lange of Fox Lake became the bride of Roland Murphy, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Murphy of Winthrop Harbor. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Andrew Plesa. "ITie bride chose a gown of white embroidered net over bridal satin §id her finger tip veil was held in ace by a pearl covered crown. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and cascading pink roses. The couple was attended by Miss Martina Kattner as maid of honor and Melvin Rathunde as best man. Miss Kattner's gown, was of blue crystalette with matching accessories and she carried a cascade bouquet of pink flfrnations and roses. A reception was held in the parish hall at St. Peter's at 5:30 in the evening to approximately 150 guests. Clubs Meet Mrs. Jake Miller entertained members of her club at her home on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 21. Cards were played and prizes went to Mrs. Ben May, Mrs. Math qpmsgern, Mrs. William Britz, Mrs. Frank Tinney and Mrs. Miller. A lovely lunch was served after cards. Members of her club met at the home of Mrs. Charles Gillespie in Libertyville on Nov. 21 for an afternoon at cards. Tire troublfe, mechanical difficulties or an insect inside the vehicle are the most common causes which necessitate pulling out of traffic. ' If you are faced with this problem, first make sure that you give the motorists behind you warning of your intentions. Do not pull off suddenly and without signaling. CINNAMON LOAF ; 1 cup milk \/4 cup butter or mirgarine Vi cup sugar I teaspoon salt : 1 package or cake yeast,'active . dry or compressed Vt cup warm, opt hot water (lukewarm for compressed yeast) ' R egg, beaten 4 y2 cups sifted enriched flour Melted butter or margarine V2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon cinnamon Scald milk. Add butter or margarine, V4 cup sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Sprinkle or crumble yeast into water (warm, not hot, water for active dry yeast;, lukewarm for compressed yeast). Stir until dissolved. Add lukewarm milk mixture. Add the egg, then half the flour. Beat until smooth. Add remaining flour. Turn dough onto a lightly floured board. Knead. Place dough in greased bowl. Brush top lightly with melted shortening. Cover with cloth. Let rise in warm place, free from draft,' until doubled in' bulk, about 45 minutes. Punch down and turn out on lightly floured board. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into an oblong about 8" x 10.'. Brush each lightly with melted butter or margarine. Mix together V2 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle half of the mixture on each oblong of dough. Roll up each piece tightly crosswise as for jelly roll. Place in greased bread pans 8V2" x 4% x . Let rise in warm place, free from'draft, until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.JSake at 350 degrees, about 40 minutes. Ice top while hot with *Plain Icing. The regular business was transacted and reports read. It was decided to go in with the American Legion on the Christmas baskets and Gert Barbian asked for any toys in good conditio^ or toys able to. be repaired as a Boy Scout troop hap offered to put these toys in good working order. The anrtual auxiliary Christmai dinner party will be held Monday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Club house. The auxiliary will furnish the turkey and we are all asked to bring a dish to pass. , The comtnittee works very hard to make this one of our outstanding social events and we sipcerely hope that all our. members will be on hand to enjoy this party.
