POST 491 by Mary Elnspar Fifty members and two guests attended the regular monthly meeting of the American Legion auxiliary held Nov. 18. President Lauretta Homo presiding. We were pleased to meet many new members and hope to see more at future meetings. President Homo and Membership chairman Lee Bassi are happy to have had 100 percent and over quota for our membership drive. The date of our membership dinner will be announced soon. Thanks to everyone for the delicious assortment of dishes which helped to make the annual Veterans' Day pot-luck a great success. . Volunteers were requested to help with the Christmas baskets. Lillian Miller read a letter and showed a picture of our adopted daughter. Lily Nichols. Birthday congratulations were extended to Sue Wirfs, Pearl Pietsch, and Mary Ann Noonan. Sympathy cards were sent to Marie Howe, Rose Peasley and Gertrude Barbian and get-well wishes to,Julia Hecht. John Preymiller is still in the hospital. Let's all get busy and mail him a card, Ward G-3, Hines Veteran's Hospital, Hines, Illinois. Margaret Mikota and her committee served delicious home-made cake and coffee. Social chairman for our Christmas party at next month's meeting is Gladys SoUcie.
