Approximately twelve women attended. Plans for a Christmas party for the first and second graders were made. The party will take place on Dec. 20. The last day of school for this year. The next meeting Is scheduled for the second Thursday in January and all interested women are asked to attend. It yo^ have children that will be starting school during the next year or so, then this club is for you and " your children. Please try to come out as its success or failure depends on you. LUymoor Association The January meeting will be held at Club Lilymoor oh Jan. 18. This meeting will be the installation of new officers. Let's give thk#iiew officers all the cooperation- we can in regards to our community. Maurice Haines and Vernon Ehredt attended a closed meeting at Lakemoor with State Representative of the Conservation Department in regards to what can and will be done regarding our lake. The meeting was officiated by J)ick Hyatt. Results of this mefling will appear in the next issue. Scouts The Cub scouts Pack 361 and Boy Scouts Troop 131 are holding a combined Christmas party on Dec, 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in McHenry. The boys are decorating the Christmas tfcee with ornaments that they tht^lselves made.. All of the boys' families are invited to attend the party. The boy scouts will have a gift exchange and the Cub Scouts and all other children of the families may partake in the grab-bag only if. they bring a 29c gift. It is requested that all boys bring a gift suitable for a boy and the girls1 bring one for a girl. From information received it is to^Je a very enjoyable evening for -all who can attend. Let's make this a real family night for the boys. At the meeting of Den 6 on Tuesday the Cub Scouts spent their time making Christmas tree ornaments in the form of little sparkling bells. Birthdays sxveet-sixteen party was held on Nov. 30 for Nancy Ritter. The I #>. guests played charades, basketball and had a scavenger hunt which incidently was very successful because of the wonderful cooperation of the neighbors. The menu consisted of barbecues, potato chips, molded jello salads, cake and pop. Helping Nancy celebrate were Carole Stritar ol Lilymoor, Karen Thompson, Joyce and Jan May, Judy Walsh, Ann Peschke, Nancy Fisher, Karen Bailey, Kathy Prawl, Darlene Friedle and Kathy Thompson all of McHenry. From Johnsburg there were Judy Michels, Sandy Whiting, Marilyn Fuchs, Georgette Miller, Janice Huff, Ann Wakitsch and Nancy Weber; Barbara Skrentny of Ringwood, Sue Ethridge of Wonder Lake and last but by no means least there was Hannelore Boecker of Chicago. * It was a wonderful party and Nancy received marly beautiful and practical gifts., Dick Fuhler, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fuhler of Lilymoor celebrated his birthday on Dec. 5. Dick and his family reside in DeKalb. . Last week your reporter was misinformed in regards to the Schmidts' birthday.' On Dec. 2 it was Tommy Schmidt's and not Robert Schmidt's. Tommy celebrated his eighth year. Dec. 6 marks the beginning of another year for Sam Root of Fritzsche Estates. On Dec. 9 Charlotta Pisen better known as Charley to her friends and neighbors celebrated her birthday. She won't say which one it is for her. On the same date little Susan Crawley reached the ripe old age of 5. Two old timers celebtote on the tenth of December. Steven tus has reached his third year and -Alan Hueckstadt hit first. A multiple birthday party was held at the Charles Fritzsche home. The celebration was in honor of Mrs. Amanda Fritzsche (her birthday was Oct. 16), granddaughter Mary Christine (Nov. 12). Charles Fritzsche (Nov.' 29) grandson Billy (Dec. 4) and grandma Doris Hall (Dec. 8)-The birthday cake was decorated with toy cowboys and Indians which everyone found interesting and a bit unusual. The birthday club of which Mrs. Fred Svoboda is a member held a party on Dec. 11 in honor of Ettie Zundahl at the home of Marian Ritter of Orchard Beach. This being the party of the month it will be a combination birthday Christmas celebration complete with grab bag. Charles Mullen, Jr. former resident of Fritzsche Estates, now in Ringwopd celebrates his nineteenth birthday on Dec. 13. To all the above mentioned a happy birthday from all of us in the community. Shower A. stork shower was held at Qlub Lilymoor on Dec. 4. Guest of honor was Mrs.. Nancy Stratton. Attending the affair were Mrs. John Milanac, Eleanor Wirfs, Marcella Goss, Eunice Fuhler, June Diedrich, Lillian' Neuman, Kathryn Fuhler, Kathryn Kurbyn, Lillian Wijas, (*arol Ketchum, Mrs. Rolla and daughter Sylvia, Elvina Lattimer, Emily Languisch, Julie Kurbyn, Mrs. Mercure, and Delores Mercure. Sending a gift and regrets for being unable to attend were Mrs. Irene • Samen, Charlene Kraus, Shirley Milanac and Lois Worts. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Doris Stanfel and Carole Ketchum. Nancy received many wonderful gifts for the little unknown heir. Winter Vacations A few of our local residents have returned from exciting and enjoyable vacations in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rogers spent approximately two and one half weeks in Miami and St. Petersburg. Charley and Sally both agreed that they-had a wonderful time with their friends down there. Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Karas and daughter Margaret (Cookie) were gone about one month, visiting Mrs. Karas' mother, Mrs. Landlat Fort Myers Beach. During their stay they also visited the famous John Deering Estate in Miami. Glad to have all of you back with us to share the tales of your trips and let us know what we are missing. Garden Club News The garden club held its meeting in Edna Crawley's home. The main topic discussed /was acquiring sponsorship of the club by a member of the Illinois Garden Club. Edna gave a talk and demonstration on a Winter table centerpiece. The next meeting will spent Thanksgiving be held on the first Monday in January. Members and interested parties please note that will be Jan. 6 and will be held in -the home of Lee Bassi. * J General News Home from the Woodstock hospital and we hope feeling much better is Tommilee Scharmen. Mr. and Mrs.jRay Biesecker's daughter Maredythe and son-inlaw Jewel Cope, former residents of Lilymoor, now reside on Franklin street near North avenue in Waukegan. The Copes have just opened a fixit shop in the same locality. We wish them very much success in their new undertaking. Mrs. Louis Scheuler, her daughter Carole, and Mrs. Fred Karmel attended the Kiwanis dinner at the high school. The program consisted of handing out awards to the 'outstanding football players and cheerleaders. All players received either a letter or a pin and all cheierleaders received an award also. Carole Sohueler was one of the honored girls from our community. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Biesecker in Chicago, at the home of Mrs. Biesecker's brother, Carl Schwanenberg. The occasion was a happy welcome home to a neice and nephew who had spent about three years in the east. Their' nephew Francis Kahanic was in the Armed Forces stationed at Aberdeen, Md. Their niece, Lois Kahanic taught school at Chesapeake Gardens, Aberdeen, Md., while her husband was in service. They will make their home in Chicago.
