Sorry to Report That Bob SmiJ.h is once more a patient at Passavant hospital, Chicago. He developed a temperature last week and was taken in to the city on Thursday. We sincerely hope the relapse is of a short duration and that Bob will be home again soon. Why not drop a card in the mail now and cheer him up? \Lynne was considerably uplifted by the call since she was the victim of an unhappy accident at school. She slipped while doing a somersault and fractured her collar bone, on Thursday. She had not returned to school by Monday. As scon as the pain abates, she will hie able to resume her studies. In the meantime, she is very much encumbered by the sling in which she is trussed, to keep the bones in place so they can knit. On Jan, 8, Emily and Siegfried celebrated, forty-eighty years of marital bliss. We are so happy for this very nice couple who are comparative newcomers to the village. They became permanent residents last July. Congratulations!! Crisis Has Passed So many calls have been received regaining the condition of Linnea Jean Olseri; daughter of Shirley and Art Olsen" of Mc- Henry. The young lady has grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins residing here in the community. The last report received is that surgery can be postponed until the wee one is a year old, which will be in August. Thanks to the miracle of mddern medical science, there is hope that she will be completely: cured. Isn't that good news? Only a few years ago. these pitiful cases were doomed! Saturday Festivities "Birthday boy" Lee Sawdo and his lovely Lil attended the re ception for Carol and Art • and Jhen returned to Whitey and Berenice's for thein own celebration. They were joined by many of the local gang who sang the traditional song, and offered their best wishes. Evie and Bud Harrison stopped in on their way home, looking like they "had really had it" butfeeling wonderful because the affair went off so beautifully. Bud was. fairly "bustin" his buttons" as he introduced his beautiful sister, Miss Shirley Zafir of Chicago, who had made the journey out--by bus,- ^with her friend, Pearl Huszti. Berenice and Whitey were gracious host and hostess as they welcomed all the celebrants. Mrs. Helge Davidsen is spending a few days in Chicago caring for her sister, Mrs. Anna Mullens who is ill. Marge and Dave made the journey into the city on Sunday. Heart Attack Victim While attending a family gathering at the home of one of his children in Chicago, Matt Donkel of Beach View road was stricken with a heart attack. A physician was summoned and a trip to the hospital in Evanston was imperative. After a few days of confinement, Mr. Donkel was removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Furlong where he is convalescing. We sincerely hope that Mr. Donkel will make a record recovery and be able to return to his coiintry home that he so dearly loves. Proud'as Punch Fred Matthesius and Chuck Ingersol are still chuckling loud and long over their skill in bowling matches. These two lucky fellows produced more meat for the freezer when they were the recipients of juicy pheasants as a result of the contest. Once in A Lifetime Miss Lynne Schultz was thrilled; beyond words--on - Saturday, when she received a call from Joe Kelly, m.c. for the Totem Club TV program, Channel 11. It seems as; though Lynne is a regular viewer at 4:30 p.m. She was impressed with the letters which are read as part of the Wishing Well portion of the program. Youngsters write in and wish good health for other children. Lynne figured that small children recover by themselves, but that her injured grandmother, Mrs. Ingeborg Olsen needed special help, and the gist of her letter debit with her grandmother's broken back, and age. Mr. Kelly was so impressed, he7 called for mo^e information, it: is reported that he said it was the most touching missive ever received on the program. As a result, Lynne, her school teacher, grandmother, hobbies, and pets will all be mentioned as they read her letter, on the program on Monday, Jan. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Remind your little ones to be watching.
