Lee Cooney To Wed Eastern Girl Soon The engagement of Miss Carol Ann Marrone to Lee Joseph dooney of McHenry has been announced by her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. William B. MacAlon£ y, Sr., of Academy Hill road, Westminster, Md. „ vMiss Marrone is a 1956 graduate of Gardner high school and is employed as a clerk at the New England Tel. & Tel. • Co., in Fitchburg. - Mr. Cooney, son of Martin Cooney of Richmond Road and the late Calista Cooney, is a graduate of the McHenry high school and received his BS degree from Bradley university in Peoria. He served two -years in the Army and is presently employed by J. E. Coulter Co., in Fitchburg . A February wedding is planned. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lyman Smith are now residing in Lake Geneva, Wis., since their carriage Dec. 28 at the First Evangelical Lutheran church, Lake Geneva. Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Smith of Rt. 1, McHenry, and the bride, the former Carolee Ann Clausen, ' is the'daughter of Mr. and Mrs. El mer Clausen of Lake Geneva. Attending the bride were Miss Kenlynn Cottingtorv a friend, as maid of honor, and Miss Elaine Briel, Miss Slancy Crandall and Mrs. DarreLHwagner, friends, as bridesmaids. Miss Diane Lot tig, niece of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid and Miss LuAnn Clausen, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Wayne Volbrecht, a friend of the groom, was best man. He was also attended by Sid Schuren, Larry Dye and Tom Cagney. Jimmy Krein was ring bearer. A reception was held for 350 guests at the Horticultural hall in Lake Geneva. Pitzen CARD OF THANKS I would like to take this opportunity -to thank all the people who helped with the Christmas party held at the village of Sunnyside. Also all the generous people who made donations. C J. Cios, chief magestrate. Miss Roberts was breathtakingly lovely in white lace and net over white satin. The graceful gown had long sleeves which came to a point over the wrists. It featured a hoop skirt below the waist. Tiny white seed pearls trimmed the coronet crown of her illusion fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of orchids and white mums. The bride's close friend, Miss Jeanne White, also of McCullom Lake, wore poudre blue net over blue talleta, with a bolero jacket and blue feather headpiece. The bridesmaids, Miss Roberta Meyers of McCullom Lake and Miss Carol Rad, wore identical gowns in pink. The attendants carried bouquets of white carnations and pink roses. The flower girls, Roxy Solchenberger and Shelly Johnson, wore short pink dresses and carried baskets filled with white carnations and pink roses. Mrs. Harrison chose a blue knit suit with matching accessories, while Mrs. Solchenberger wore a blue sheath with bolero jacket and both ladies had pink rose corsages. John Wenzel served as best man and the groomsmen included James DeYoung, Don Rasmussen, Fred Dirker and Allen McMillan. Between 150 and 200 people attended the reception commencing at 5:30 p.m. Out-of-town guests included relatives and friends. The young couple left for a two-week honeymoon in Florida. Upon their return, they will reside in McHenry. The bride attended the local high school and the groom is currently employed by his father in the welding business. The regular monthly meeting of the MdHenry County Association -for Crippled Children and Adults was held recently in Woodstock. Harry Kinne, president, welcomed four new trustees: L^- man Johonnott of Solon Mills, Mayor James Cooney of Woodstock, Mr. A. A. Anderson of Harvard and Mayor Leo Krumme, Crystal Lake. Because of the patient increase of the Easter Seal Physical Therapy center, a second therapist-was added to'the staff. . This new assistant is Miss Mary Jane Keim, P. T., whose services began Oct. 14, 1957. Mrs. O. J. Malina, representing, the fund procurement committee, stated that by continuing to use volunteers to complete the mailing lists for the pending fund drive, considerable money could be saved. She said that last year, high school students whdr volunteered for this work, were exemplary in the completion of|the task to which they were assigned. It was reported to her that students from Richmond, Crystal Lake and Hebron had indicated- interest in helping the Easter Seal association in his projeot. The next meeting will be held Feb. 1. A two-week leave of absence was granted to Mrs. Milton Jorgensen, physical therapist. She will be gone from February 17 through February 28th to attend the workistudy course on "Administration and Supervision Of Physical Therapy," at the University of Pennsylvania. The next meeting will be held, Saturday, February 1st. * \ ^ * COUNTY COUNCIL MEETS The McHenry county council of PTAs will meet at the Cary grade school Thursday, Jan. 16, at 8 p.m. Lou Marchi of Bull Valley, who attended the legislation workshop, will speak to the group. Legislation chairmen are urged to attend. Scholarships will also be discussed. All local presidents, delegated and chairmen are requested to attend, enabling them to bring this important phase of P.T.A. work back to their units.
