Cub Scouts The Cub Scouts next subject will be "Exploring Alaska". From this subject, the boys will then make a project. Brownie News Hie Brownies are busy beavers these days, getting ready fa* their investiture. As part of their investiture, they are planning a play, "The Brownie Story", which will be held on March 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Coffee and cake will be served, and also refreshments for girls. So plan to attend, remember this is for the whole community. The Brownies are ' also happy to welcome a new leader, Mrs. Dot Erbin. Sluggo. We also understand that Janice Janquart has been a "dog-sitter" for the past few days. Kathy Mason has been in McHenry Clinic for x-rays and different tests. She is now at home. Tom has been bitten by the flu bug, and Lois is still recovering from a cold. Joyce Heir had some of* her friends over, this afternoon for a demonstration party. Jerry Vrbik had a .poker party at her house Thursday afternoon. Those joining in the fun were Vi Johnson, Audrey Misavice, Marie Schlick, Harriet Wilson and Meryl Fletcher: After the red hot game, cake and coffee were served. The executive meeting was held at Marcia Dowd's house Thursday evening. The club will be sending a team to fire in competition with other teams at a meeting held this month. Basketball was the only other activity last week. He is going to have some of his neighborhood chums in for lunch and of course, some of his birthday cake. \ Table Tennis Tournament There was a big turnout for the tennis tournament, Sunday at the Community Center. Our congratulations to all you winners! Teen Club News The rifle team had their first experience on the rifle range Saturday. There was a good turn out for the meeting, as We Sure Arte Sorry to see her leave us, Wanda Dobecki, we mean. But after months of able and dependable reporting for the community she is retiring to raise her family. Thanks for the wonderful job you have done, we hope we will be able to follow in your footsteps! Girl Scouts The girl scouts have all memorized their girl scout laws and have them down pat now. The girls are all planning on attending the Girl Scout Rally in Crystal Lake soon which is being held in honor of Juliet Low, the girl scout founder. Patsy Wallace made a cake for her crooking ba<|ge which the girls dll enjoyed after the last meeting. .^They have all been working ftfffd on the play for the investiture/ Spring Is Here or 1at least all the mud that goes with it is. With the rainy season here and the main road under construction we really have our share of the gooey stuff. But--summer isn't too far off and soon the road will be paved, so better things are coming.
