Mike Mc- Ccfmack celebrated his fourth birthday April 29. Helping him celebrate were Pam Radner, Martha and Steven Simpson, Paul Dethlefson, Craig Sigman and Theresa Birmingham. Bruce Eternick celebrated his fifth birthday on. May 4 with a Visit from grandma and grandpa' Etemick from West Allis, Wis, and his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson and their family from Milwaukee, Wis. Club News The Octettes had their April showers' meeting at the home of Marge Tickler. First price, a lovely figurine, was won by Marie Theis of Algonquin. Second prize, a pretty planter, was taken by Lillian Gorski of Chicago, and the third prize, a cloth calendar, was won by Vern Bauer. In keeping with the April Showers' theme, Marge had a cake made in the shape of an umbrella, along with individual cup cakes topped with umbrellas ?md ginger tea punch and coffee. The Ma.y Flowers meeting will be held on May 7, at the home of Lydia Fenner, - Welcome To Pat and John Couglin and their three boys, who moved into their new home at 139 Mill Lane on Saturday, April 26. May you spend many happy years in Eastwood Manor., Sick List Michael and John Schmidt have proven once again that they are really identical twins. John got over his ear infection and then Michael, quite naturally, came down with the same ailment. They are both well now and back in school. One of our newer neighbors, Matthew Mersch has just returned from the hospital, where he had a goiter operation, and is coming along fine.. Little Beth Hayes went into St Joseph's hospital in Elgin on May 5. for an eye operation. Billy Urban has been home in bed all week with glandular fever. James Cary had to spend a day in the hospital last week as he had an accident that re- = suited in a broken ankle: ;T3»ey .had quite a scare in the Brodin homewftieri two year old Dean Brodin choked on a doughnut but fortunately, with the help of some of the neighbors the situation was reme- Linda Louise French put in her appearance on April 29 and tipped the scales at 7 lbs. 3' ozs. 9 Congratulations to Jackie and Bob and we know This and That , W i n n i e H a n s e n , D o l o r e s Lawrence, Helen Birmingham, Rita Simpson, Betty Radner and Peggy Garrelts all enjoyed a delicious luncheon at the home of Lois McCormack on April 23. Lois served hot beef sandwiches', jello salad and cucumbers in sour cream, along with kolachkys as only Lois can make them, and of course, plenty of hot coffee. If any of you are planning to step out in the near future, I am sure Helen Birmingham would be only too happy to let you borrow her lovely?? new?? mink??? stole. Len and Winnie Hansen drove up to Antioch on Saturday, April 26 to help Len's. mother celebrate her birthday- Dick and Lydia Fenner had a surprise last Sunday when Dick's brother, William, his two sisters, Martha Fenner and Irma Hammang and his cousin. Emma Janz, all dropned out to visit them. Carl and John Hayes spent last Thursday through Saturday at the home of Carol's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson, in Chicago, then returned to Eastwood Manor with ohn's brother, Michael, who tayed with them for the remainder of the weekend and celebrated his birthday in our community. Tripoli was the game of the evening at the Bill Harners last Saturday, with Marilyn and Jack Fultz, Rita and T*>m Simpson, Doris |tn^ <Kto-Sh£iw, Pat and Lew Kellogg, Mim and Lee Hansen and Nancy Lessard all participating. Dolores and Len Lawrence drove up to Antioch on Sunday to visit Ltbi's dad. Betty and Ed Radner entertained Betty's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lightholder on Sunday. / Dorothy, and Elwin Eternick journeyed to Chicago on Saturday, April 26 to help Dorothy's fattier, Clarence Duplain^ celebrate his birthday. The following day they entertained Elwin's uncle, Frank Eternick of Milwaukee and Dorothy's mother, Mrs. Ella Duplain of Brookfield. Pat and Lew Kellogg were hosts to Pat's folks, Mr. and Mfs. Ray Johnson, of Chicago, April 27, to celebrate Mrs. Johnson's birthday. Julie Schmidt's mother, Mrs. Koshnirk, spent the weekend with Julie and Bill and the boys. Four generations were present at a luncheon at the home of Warren and Lois Krebs last Thursday. Warren's mother. Mrs. Henning Larson, his sister, Mrs. Richard Cashion, her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Lira and her six week old daughter, Jill. Lois and Tim McCormack drove to Chicago last Monday for the Confirmation party for Tim's niece, Nancy McCormack. ' : r On Sundav. April " 27, •• Pat Kellog of Mill Lane, became godmother to her four week old niece, Tracy Baldwin, ^t St. Paul's Episcopal church. Fifteen ladies attended a demonstration at the home of Ann Ritter, a week ago last Wednesday. The demonstration was given by Anft'ss sisterin- law. Marie Theis. Ann served mint "blossom pie, which received rave notices, cheese cake, butter cookies and coffee. Connie and Bob Dethlefson were delighted with a visit from Bob's aunt and uncle, Marge and Ralph Dethlefson of Los Altos. Calif. They stopped here for a few days on their way home from a plane trip that took them through the southern states and the east coast, and they left <Eastwood Manor Friday morning *0 fly home. Harry Brodin family, consisting of Harry and Marj Tprie, and their two boys, Gerald, who is five and Harold, who is two, moved into their home at 112 Country Lane, on August 1, 1957. Harry is employed by an outboard marine company ih Waukegan. Marjorie is a native of Michigan City, Ind. and Harry comes from Elmwood Park. Majorie reports that they both enjoy outdoor sports such as besebaH and fishing and love to go on picnics with the boys. Mrs. Pat Morrison, who has her arm in a cast since the winter months, will still have to wear that miserable piece of plaster until the end of June. Although Pat can take it off for a short time during the day, it must be on when she attempts to do ani? work that is too heavySsr her. We all are hoping that your arm will be better than new when the cast is off for good. While playing with his friends in a tree Saturday, Clarence Sossong son of. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sossong, fell and broke his arm in two places, thus making him spend a night at the McHenry hospital. Now Clarence will be waited on by T his two brothers and siiter. I bet he wishes he hadn't climbed that trfee. Norjnan Williams, son pf Mr. and Mrs. Norman Williams former residents here, now living in Lilymoor, is reported to be in serious condition in the Evanston hospital from injuries resulting from an accident with his motorcycle on Wednesday evening. f*. ; Visiting 'Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kamiri, Sr., are coming in from Texas this Friday, to their home here at,the lake. Ed Kamin, Jr. and Stewart Clark from Clinton, Iowa will also arrive here on Friday to visit with all Jtheir friends and stay with the folks. Mr. and Mrs. Claude F.
