Farm lands,. as well as low l a n d s , a r e f l o o d e d a n d t h e water of the Fox river is overflowing seawalls, filling basements and covering the lawns of the surhmer homes along the shores. Farmers along the river report many acres of plow land under water and useless for a crop this year. At Dutch Creek, north of McHenry, . more than 100 acres are under water and the creek, which is never more than 15 feet wide, is now swollen to cover a half mile in width.
