Final preparations for camp were made and a troon roll call advancement was set for the first meeting next mohth. Cub Scouts De.i 7 & 8 The weekly den meeting was held Monday afternoon. A game of kickball was played at the beginning. The game was followed by a snail race in which the boys rode their bikes down a hill. The last one down was the winner. Terry Rogers managed to be the pokiest and received an inform a t i v e b o o k l e t , " F u n W i t h Your Bike." The boys worked on moccasins which they had started last week. The boys are following an authentic Ch|pkariioo Indian pattern. Tuesday night many of the Cubs traveled to Elgin to be present at the opening night Of the Hiawatha pageant. The younger set will remember Joeanne, who now resides in McCullom Lake. For the party many guests enjoyed the fun of playing tennis. The younger set sure put Joe Mileski to the test of how good he was at t h e g a m e o f t e n n i s . F r o m reports he is stilt feeling the aches and pains from trying to keep up with the youngs t e r s . A f t e r t h e g a m e s w e r e played a nice lunch was served and the girls opened their many gifts. All in all everyone had a good time including daddy Joe. Vacationing Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Gustafson and daughter Shirley left Tuesday for a month's vacation iV6stefen; states and enjoying themselves at the various national parks. Their destinatidn is California where they will visit friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoppert Sr. arrived from their Florida home early this past week to spend a few weeks with their son Henry and his family and also relatives in Chicago and Elmhurst. Mrs. Hoppert's sister. , - Miss E. Schaefer, is also --a resident of this community and was/sure glad to have Erna withPner again. Norman Wjjliams and son have been in the north woods the past week spending their time fishing and relaxing. Hope they bring back some of those fine northern fish. Mr. and Mrs. • Ray Blades and son spent the past week in the north woods enjoying fine weather while there .'to. help make their-stay an enjoyable one. Fishing was very gpod, so the Blades report. Miss Mary Anne * Sossong, Jim Tomasello, Lu Ellen Tom.- asello and Bob DeBlaze were Chicago visitors on June 18 and while there attended the theatre. After the theatre they had a light lunch.
