Missionary; to India Speaks Rev. Charles Springer, who has spent five years in India as a missionary preached at Grace churdh last Sunday. Pastor Springer with His wife and two year old daughter are spending two weeks at Camp Alpine where the$r are conducting classes for the young people attending camp. He shared a tew of his experiences with the congregation^at both services Sunday morning. Hie liturgist for the morning atJQrace church was Max Sullivan who is employed at Camp Alpine this year and is studying ,for the ministry. Althafer, formerly of the Richmond area, was a teacher at Camp Alpine. Community Church News Last Sunday Rev. J. A. Wilcoxen of Chicago wis guest minister again. Next Sunday the Rev. James Stillman Caskey of the Wellington Congregational church in Chicago will preach. Rev. Caskey was a former pattor of the Richmond and Genoa City Congregational churches. On Aug. 10 and 17 Rev. Francis Kranz of the First Congregational church in Lancaster, Wis. will 'conduct the services. He was,a former pastor of the Community church in Richmond. , There will W no Sunday school classes in August at the Community church, but they will resume on Sept. 7. WHEREAS, a survey and study of traffic flow conditions and., parking conditions on the hereinafter named streets in the City of McHenry h a s b e e n c o n d u c t e d by t h e Board of Local Improvements of the City Council of the City of McHenry; and WHEREAS, such survey and study has conclusively established the necessity for additional traffic and parking control ,of motor vehicles during the hours of 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.1 on each Friday evening of each week during the year on the said, hereinafter named streets; and WHEREAS, it is deemed netessary in the interests of public safety and convenience to effect such additional regulations concerning the Use of p r e s e n t l y i n s t a l l e d p a r k i n g meters on the said hereinafter named -streets; / NOW, THEREFORE, the •Board of Local Improvements of the City of McHenry has recommended to the City Cpuncil of the said City that the amendment as hereinafter set forth to the Municipal Code of the City of McHenry be adopted by the Counpil, and as a, result of said recommendation and action by the City Council: BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry that an ordinance relating to traffic and regul a t i n g t h e u s # o f p u b l i c streets in the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois, prescribing regulations relative to the parking of vehicles upon such streets; providing for purchase, leasing, acquiring, installation, operation, maintenance, supervision, regulation and control of the use of parking meters and providing for the payment thereof; defining and providing for the establishment of parking meter zones upon the public streets and for an enforcement thereof and providing penalties for the violation thereof and as amended by, and, hereby is amended by adding thereto the following: Section 19. In all parking meter zones of the City of McHenry, the time limitation for legale parking in compliance with the provisions of this ordinance shall be extended to include the hours of 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on epch Friday of every week throughout each calendar year, and all use of parking^ facilities in such parking meter zones shall be in conformity and compliance with the regulations as hereinbefore established for the use of such zones during the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. This ordinance'1 shall be in full force and effect from arid after its passage, approval and publication, as -provided by law. AH ordinances or "parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. x All violations of this ordinance shall be subject to penalties as provided in the original ordinance relating to trafffc and regulating the use of- public streets- in the City •of McHenry, Illinois. There is, an ordinance covering disturbing the peace and this law will be enforced. ,• Successful Barbecue Considering how cold it was last Saturday, we had a nice turnout for our barbecue. When all the grills were glowing with nice hot coals we had some heat for a Awhile, I guess it was too cold to even enjoy the beer. Larry Cammarata played the accordion for us and did a very good job. A big hand to the brave people who showed up, and to those who helped set everything up. Thanks a lot to all. They are his aunt, uncle and cousins. , Marriage Miss Shirley Linden has announced her forthcoming marriage to Mr. Delmar Cleveland Morrison of Belpray, Ohio. So let us. all put the can to work. 1 -- * Mishap Little Mike Williams who is only 5 wouldn't listen to his mother when she 'told him and the rest of the children who were playing with him to stop running through :the house chasing one another, so the result of the game sent him to the hospital as an almost serious casualty.
