M COOKS CORNER by Marie Schaettgen •« • • , Green Beans ' Before those vines begin to produce those long, tender, green beans, your imagination drools at the thought of these lovely fresh beans. But, before the season is over, you wonder if you'll ever look at another bean again. Have you tried adding a few to stew? "Cut them into small pieces and combine them with corn. Or try them this way for a change. Fry thinly sliced onion and diced bacon together until on ion is just soft but still white. Add cooked , string beans, left whole, and reheat thoroughly in bacon-onibn mixture. Season to taste. A .cut up green pepper is good here too. Stii gently until beans and bacon flavor is well blended. How. are they?
