Toots reports it was really a day of activity along with singing and dancing on their. new; patio. (That's really breaking it in right) Everyone stayed on and on 'till the inoon came out. The 'teen-agers won the last baseball game 26 to 21. The score is now tied, the 'teenagers won 2 games and the men 2 games. A donation was taken for Terry Phillips. After the game', the 'teen-agers adjourned to Barb Schlick's house where Judy Jensen, Pat Johnson and Marty, Don Bentz, Ronnie Spankuch, Delores Formella, Benny, Myron and Bob Messel had a watermelon feast. Labor Day weekend, thaJEaylor family is having a reunion in Chicago. Toots Spankuch's folks stopped in Tuesday on their way home'from a vacation in Minnesota. Sunday, Schlicks enjoyed a visit from their friends the McEnaneys, of Harvard. The Bales family enjoyed a delicious dinner at Eddie and Marcia Dowd's home .Monday evening. Mrs. Joyce Forney is taking care of a little girl until her father can find someone to care for her in his own .home. Diane's mother passed away last week. Last Tuesday, Milt ahd Betty Sandelin spent the day in that busy city, Chicago. Judy Krumwiede's friends enjoyed the picnic on her lawn. Six old school chums \and their offsprings had a nice time visiting. Jerry Janquart is spending Rart of his two-week vacation working around home painting the trim on his house and getting the lawn in shape. They enjoyed a day of swimming and picnicing. Irene Naden of Oak Lawn was a guest for a week at Hazel Rogde's house. While Irene was here she caughl a 14 Mt bass and a good sized catfish. Hazel went back to Oak Lawn and spent a day with Irene. Harold and Muriel 'Peterson celebrated their fourteenth wedding t anniversary yesterday the twenty-seventh of August. Harold was in New Orleans for the occasion so Muriel had to sit home and just look at the new washer and dryer Harold bought her. Congratulations. Agnes Osborne spent the day visiting with her mother in Fox Lake. Mary. Madock took her two boys, Ricky and Mike, to the Brookfield Zoo last Thursday. Eddie an Elsie Brown gave a farewell party for their son, Eddie Jr., last week Wednesday night. Eddie-left for the Army last Monday. Hazel and Dick Moriey and Dick's sister and her family spent yesterday at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. They erijoyed watching baby chicks being hatched and touring the captured German sub the U 505. Little Cathy Daley is enjoying her stay with her aunt and uncle, Kay and Wally Sielesch. Kay will sure miss Cathy when she goes back to Michigan. Don't forget to be at the next association meeting Sept. 3: New officers will be elected so get there and make your vote count. Gloria Waldon had the company of her two girl friends last week. Craig and Kenny Thoren are spending a week's yacation with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Thoren, in Leon Lake, Wis. The meeting was called to order by our president, Evelyn Harrison, with the 4-H pledge. The secretary then called roll and read the minutes. Olivia entered Woodstock hospital last Monday af-v ternoon, where she underwent surgery early Tuesday. Birthday Kids Little Terry Kruger was quite the young lady as she greeted- her guests last Monday afternoon, Aug. 18. Several of Terry's" friends and their mothers gathered in the Kruger home for an afternoon of fun. While the children amused themselves with various activities, the mothers caught up with the neighborhood "'goings on." Present for Terry's fifth birthday celebration were: Marge Petersen, Peggy*and David, Lorie Letzer and Lynn, Susan Heim, "yours truly" and daughters, Joy and Karen, Last, but certainly not least, Mark Kruger joined in on his sister's party. David Petersen was host at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 19 for a birthday party honoring his fifth natal day. Youngsters at that age can be quite active so "Mama Marge" was kept pretty busy most of the afternoon. Consuming lots of cake and ice cream were the following youngs men: Mark Kruger, Keith Klapperich, John and Joey Dehn, Brian Stahl, Rory Marshall and Jimmy Vyduna. Girl Scout and' i Brownie News s • The Girl Scout intermediate troop No. 135 is in need of two leaders to begin this year's meetings. If there is any women interested in undertaking this task, please call either Lu Ann Smith at 1276-W or Dorothy Adams at 2534. The Brownie troop is "still in existence. Further details on meetings and leaders will be printed at a later .date. There will be no new troops formed until those now in existence have the sufficient hejp to progress. Mass In Chaper Last Monday morning found the little white chapel roar the golf course filled to capacity. Father Trusch of St. Rita's parish in Chicago said the 9:30 Mass ip the chapel again this year as hie did just a year ago. Father Trusch was assisted by two servers, Donald Schmitt and Dick Himplemann. Donald is a great-great grandson while Dick is the greatgreat- great grandson of the chapel founder. The Sisters of St. John's joined voices with the others who participated in this Mass in singing hymns throughout the service. " Feted at Dinner Mrs. Anna Lay was guest of honor at a party held in the home of her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lay, of Towers Lake last Saturday, Aug. 23. The occasion was the celebration of Mrs. Lay's seventyseventh birthday. Paying their respects to Mrs. Lay at this dinner party were Mary K. Schmitt, Mrsr John Lay, Mfs. Visitors at the state fair in Milwaukee last week were the Art Smith family, the Frank Schmitt family and the families of Ed. and Gerry vHettermann. The Cyril Heim little league team, which is known as the Yankees, played host to a team from Palatine on the public school diamond last Saturday morning. The Yankees came out on top of a 9 to 5 score.
