The food was prepared to perfection and resembled a king's feast. N Kimberly Ann Welp chose 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, to put in her appearance at Memorial hospital in Woodstock. She was 18%'! long and weighed 6 lbs. 1 % oz. Another welcome to Elpha and Bill Philippe, who are renting the home formerly occupied by the Brigham family, at 147 Mill Lane. The Philippes have five children --1 Karen, Randy, Joey, Terry and Tracy. Jack Rogers Father Passes Away We were sorry to hear of the passing of Gilbert Rogers, a resident of Mineral Springs, and the father of Jack Rogers, of our subdivision. Mr. Rogers, who was 70 years old, passed away on'Saturday, Sept. 6 in Memorial hospital in Woodstock and was laid to rest at St. Patrick's cemetery on Tuesday of last week. We wish to extend our sympathy to Jack arid the family; Happy Birthday To David Garrelts, who was 3: years old on Sunday, Sept. 7. David celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a party for his little friends. Helping him to celebrate the occasion were Pam and Jackie Radner and Lynn and Susie Newlon of Eastwood v Manor, Bonnie and Pam Rogers, Bruce, Bari and Brian Root .and Tommy Budil, all of Lakemoor and his cousins, Kathy O'Leary of Woodstock and- Tommy Amman of McHenry, and, of course, his big sister, Debbie. While the children played their games in the yard, the grownups had their cake and coffee in the house. Also present were his grandma Garrelts of McHenry and his aunts, Helen O'Leary and Julia Amman. Sept. 11. Carol, John and Beth Hayes chose a beautiful day for a picnic when they journeyed up to the Dells last Thursday. Arlene Tiasley was the hostess for a demonstration at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Bob Newlon's sister and brother- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Shields of Chicago, journeyed to bur subdivision on Sunday, Sept. 7, to spend the day at the Newlon home. The Mersch. The first part of their vacation was spent visiting an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mclntyre, in Kansas City, Kansas. During their stay there t h e y j o u r n e y e d t o B o n n e r Springs, Kansas where Jack officiated at the wedding of his brother Charles and Ardus Weller, at the-Christian church on Aug. 24. From there they drove to Herington, Kansas for a visit with Jack's brother and his family, the Barr Mclntyres. After the Labor Day weekend thfcy travelled to Middlebrook, Mo., where they visited at the home of Amolee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fitzgerald. While there they enjoyed a family reunion on Sunday, Sept. 7, when all nine of Amolee's sisters and brothers and their families came home for the. celebration.
