Wegner of Woodstock and the groom is the jttpn of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar ' T»alis of that city. Rev. Fr. -Egan officiated at the nuptial rite. ' ' ' , Zita Perry, an aunt of-the bride, sang "Ave Maria" dur- ; » ing the nuptial rite. The church was beautifully , decorated with tWo large bask e t s of white g l a d s at the altar. ' Miss Wegner chose a white ' 6 t o c a d e s a t i n s h e a t h d r e s s with embroidered nylon Overskirt. On her head she had an embroidered, nylon mantilla and she carried white glamellias. The matron of honor was Shirley Raath of Elgin, her sister, - and bridesmaid was a cousin, Sue Anne Berry, of < Woodstock. The former was at- . JUred in a turquoise brocade ]• "tin sheath dress with white * chapel cap, while the latter wore a pink brocade satin sheath with the same kind of ^ headpiece. -They carried pink glamellia bouquets. p* James Raath of Elgin served as best man and groomsman ; was Austin Palis of Woodstock, i Mrs. Wegner selected a beify? < chemise dress with navy blue > accessories and a bronze mum rorsage. Mrs. Palis wore a pink taffeta dress, black and white accessories and a white mum corsage. Lunch was served at noon at Coleman's for' members of the bridal party, followed by a reception at the Moose hall in Woodstock for 100 guests. Fallowing a trip to Canada, they will reside at 117 W. Washington street, McHenry. The bride is a 1957 graduate of St. Mary's high school in Woodstock and is g e n e r a l clerk at Science Research in McHenry. The bridegroom at> tended Woodstock high school and has just completed three years in the Army. CARLTON PALMERS MTEP FIFTY-SIX YEARS SEPT; 11 r Mr. and Mrs, Carlton A. Palmer of Wooded Shores, Wonder Lake, observed the occay. sion of their fifty-sixth ding anniversary on Sept. 11 but celebrated at a barbecue liayty Sunday, the fourteenth, at their home. The party was £rariged by their daughter and nusband, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. - Holmgren, Who reside with them. Attending the celebration were their other children, Mr. and Mis.' Delbert Ives of West Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Flanagan, and daughter, Patsy, of Chicago, Mr. and/ Mrs. Carlton A. Palmer, Jr., and children,, Janice Lee and Rof^ rt, of Mount Prospect, there are seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Among the grandchildren, in addition t6 those mentioned, are Mrs. John J. Barnings, Jr., of Pistakee Highlands, Mrs. Thomas Peek of Park Forest, Mrs. Gerald Lindberg of Elgin and Glen Ives of West Chicago. The Palmers have lived in Wonder Lake for twenty-five £ars, having built a home there at that time. They have been permanent residents fo^ fifteen years. Mr. Palmer is retirejT from J. P. Smith Shoe company, where he was employed for fifty years. Both he and his wife are in fairly good health. C.D.A. MEMBERS 0ROM McHENRY AT DEDICATION" Last Sunday, Sept. 14, the new St. Edward's convent, Ipcated in Elgin, had open house for the public. After the blessing of the convent by the Most Rev. Bishop Loras T. Lane, D. D., there was a color-' »l and impressive procession St. Edward's high school athletic field. Representing McHenry's C. D. of A. in the procession, wearing colorful robes and carrying the C.f). of A. banner, were Grand Regent Madeline Mayfield, Vice-Regent Barbara Leight, Financial Secretary Rita Martin, Monitor Van Diedrich, Trustees Bobby May, Ranees Widhalm, Helen Heuser, - Laura Weber, M a r y Freurtd and Eleanor Strache. At the athletic field a pontifical field mass was held and a sermon given by Bishop Lane of Rockford.
