We bore no hard feelings and the best part was, neither did the squirrels, j®Later, as we walked over the top of a hill, my partner spotted a red fox about three hundred yards away. He was "heading right for*us. He stopped about two hundred ,yards from us. We each got off a Couple of quick shots but the range was too great for .22 shots and Mr. Fox disappeared into as corn field. JOHNSSURS WMS FIRST GAME OF Travel To Crystal Lake Next Sundajj>fH For Second Battle by Lee Hiller In the first game of two out of three in the McHenry County playoffs, the Johrtsburg Tigers downed the Crystal Lake nine by the score of 4 to 1'. The Tiger defense and Terry Britz's pitching proved too much for the Lakers. There were only ten hits between the two t e a m s . The t f r i n d was blowing a gale and held down some mighty long dr&es. The Tigers took the lead in the first when Wally Frett was safe on an error, stole second, went, to third on an overthrow by* the catcher and scored on Art Jackson's hit to right. They added two more in the third when Dick Hiller doubled to left, went to third on a passed ball and scored on Wally Frett's ground ball to second. Lloyd Freund then hit a ball to the weeds in center field for a home run. They got their fourth run in the fourth inning on Tom Oeffling's hit, stolen base and Sonny Miller's double. Crystal Lake got their lone run irt the fourth on Bill Hayes' triple and Bob Reinert's sacrifice out. There was a very good turnout at this game. Next Sunday the Tigers will try to wrap up the season at Crystal Lake. Jphnshurg (4) D. Hiller, SS W. Frett, IB Lloyd Freund, 2B A. Jackson, CF T. Oeffling, LF S. Miller, 3B Loren Freund, RF G.
