A retired Army major, he was a member of the American Legion post at Wonder Lake and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at McHenry. The deceased was born June 26, 1888, in Reiger, Batavia, Europe. For the past twenty years he had resided at Wonder Lake. SutVivors are the widow, Helen; three sons, John and Victor of Wonder Lake and Robert of Miami. Fla. The body rested at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home, until Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, when Mass was read at Christ the King church, Wonder Lake, by Rev. Fr. James Vanderpool. Burial was in the church cemetery. Sherman C. Davis Sherman C. Davis, 93, of Round Lake died at his home Nov. 22. He was a retired dairy farmer. He is survived by a son, Ray C., and two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Russell of Volo and Mrs. Ed Bacon of Round Lake. Nugent of Rt. 3, McHenry.,Nugent was reported travelling east on River road and lost control of his car. After missing a telephone pole and a tree, the car stopped when it crashed into a house. Mrs. Catherine Staroske and her 2-yearK)ld son were in the house but were not injured. Nugent, who was reported released from the hospital just three days before the accident, received minor injuries.
