It was the Warriors* poorest game of the year although we won by 29 points. Evidence of the fact was that we shot only 38.495- which is about 6 points below our usual average of 43.9 %. Don had a touch of the flue arid was held out of action. Jack Schaefer led the scoring with 13 points. He hit at a 60% clip. Matt Eichinger scored 12, had 5 assists and 8 recoveries. John Olsen led all rebounders with 7. Wauconda's high scorer was Winterroth who accounted for 19 points. This victory was very costly due to the fact that John Steinbach, a key member of the team, suffered a sprained ankle and will be out indefinitely, probably lor the next two or three games. The Tigers were held to just 6 points in that final stanza and to 2 in the overtime. Earlier in the game, our full-court press wasn't accomplishing much, so Fulton switched to a zone defense which seemed to bottle up big John Hess considerably. Hess scored 21 points in the first half and only 6 in the final half. The big thorn in our side in the second half was Phil Jurs who consistently sank long jump and set shots from about 20 feet out. You already know of the remarkable job turned in by the team in the final stages of the game, but we shall go into detail about some of the performances.
