\ Thursday, December 18, 1956 THE MCHOISY PLAINDEALER Lilymoor MOTHER'S CLUB PLANS FOR YULE PARTY ^ ^Alma Hueckstaedt--578-R-l Wednesday, Dec. 10, the mothers met and made plans for a Christmas party for the first and second graders. Eighteen members were present. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Lois Shiavone, Mrs. Delores Shiavone, Mrs. Isabelle Karmel and Mrs. Stratton. J are interested in this product can get in touch with any of the road committee. They-are Vern Ehredt, Lawrence Schuerr, Herman Crawley and Charles Hueckstaedt. Let's make this an all out drive for as most of you know as soon as all the signs are erected we will then have house numbers which is another advancement for the community. No more than an hour of your time should be necessary to complete this project. Christmas Programs On Friday, Dec. 19, the chil- '"dren of the Lily Lake school will have a special program. All parents are invited to attend. This is one program the children are very proud to take part in and they all secretly hope that all the mothers will tome out so they can show the grown-ups how talenXed they ire. i Cub Scouts Den 6 spent their time at this . week's meeting making Christmas tree ornaments. The boys in den 6 are Michael Dorsey, Eddie Atkins, Eddie Gray, Rickie Zahn, Robert Hose, Darrel Whynot and Richie Hickman, Mrs. Phyllis Zahn is their den mother. ^ Mrs. Shirley Schuerr, the assistant den mother of Den 3, was requested by the boys in that den not to attend the next one or two den meetings; Reason! the boys are making Christmas gifts ahd Shirley has three sons in the den, they are Kenneth, 8. and William, 11, who are cubs, and Skipper, 12, is the den chief so you can't blame them for wanting to surfrise Mom with the gifts they re making for each of the mothers. Arc-Angels Christmas Party The girls of the club will hold their party on the twenty-third of December at the home of Miss Sharon Counley in Lilymoor. Notice It has been called to my attention that some boys and girls have been finding pleasure in walking and sliding on the ice down the middle of Route 120. Evidently they don't realize the danger of this method of having fun. Every parent can and should explain the hazards involved in the lake, it will be a lot safer for them. w Vote of Thanks I would like to express the appreciation of the subdivision by this little notation; Alec Rivard gets credit this time for putting up another street sign this past weekend. If one man from every block would volunteer his time for putting up just one street sign; the subdivision could be completely ^nished in one day. Men who News-Comers k ' The Vanover family is new to the community. They came to Lilymoor from Evanston. Members of the family are Hal Vanover, his wife, Beverly, and their three children. Danny 6, Davey 5, and Stevie 1 year old. In the not to distant past the Vanover family lived in California, while there, Mr. Vanover was a pitcher for a baseball team in San Francisco. He Is quite an enthusiast in other sports also, such as basketball and football. We certainly hope the Vanovers will live in our community for a long time to come. Birthdays Susan Crawley had quite a party for.her sixth birthday on Dec. 7. The party was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Susie had twelve children as guests to help her celebrate the occasion. On Dec. 9. Davey Vanover became 5 years old and his big brother became 6 on Dec. 11. Wilfred Blake, Jr., was 17 on Sunday, Dec. 14. Here's wishing all of vou a very happy birthday and may each of you have many more. Sunnyside Estates Invite Families To Yule Party From A to Z An invitation is extended to each family of Sunnyside Estates to attend our Christmas party which will be held tomorrow evening at seven. Even if there are no longer any little ones in your family won't you come along and join in the fun with the other families. It will be- held at the Johnsburg community club and Santa will be there to visit with the little ones and give each child a little gift. Refreshments will be, served and we hope that everyone from baby to grandparents will attend and have a goo<J time. Last Week's column carried a notice that a committee has organized to canvass the subdivision. At a wee^ this committee decided to postpone their task until after the holidays. However, they expect to finish before the next association meeting which will be the second Thursday of January since the first Thursday is New Years' day. Birthdays and Anniversaries Happy birthday on Dec. 18 to Tom Felicetti; Gloria Von Oepen on Dec. 21, George Owen on the twenty-second and Paul Voight who was. very nearly a Christmas baby six years ago but arrived two days before. Congratulations to Herb and Mary Rose who will celebrate another wedding anniversary on Dec. 19. Back Home We are happy to report that Mr. Olsen of Mayfair drive is at home once again after undergoing an operation. May your recovery be a speedy one. A Year Ago this month this column made its first appearance in , the Plaindealer. A lot of copy has been written, thrown in the waste basket and written again. Of course you are the ones who make the news and without the phone , calls and notes this column would not exist. Many thinks for past and future calls. Reminder The snow plow has been through the Subdivision already even though the calendar says winter won't arrive until next Monday. Have you paid your part of the expense? News is short these days, but if there is anything the number is still 2065-J. SHOP IN McHENRY adua General News We were sorry to hear that the Lawson family moved out of our subdivision, but they haven't gone to far though. They moved into a home in McHenry that they have purchased. Mr. Lawson is our local mail man. Mr. Earel Belford presided over the meeting of the Official Board meeting of the Community Methodist Church on Wednesday evening, Dec. 10. Here's hoping that Mrs. Counley has completely recovered from her fall on the ice, luckily she wasn't injured seriously. presents . . .
