Christmas Party for the Girls The annual Ladies of the Lake party was observed at tjie home of "Ruth Smith this year with many women of the club in attendance. For those who were unable to come we can onlv say that they missed k grand time. ,I^The huge Smith home Was lavishly trimmed for the holiday but the most eye-catching note was the large pink flocked tree trimmed entirely with ornaments of a deeper hue. The mantle was attractively decorated with figures and ornaments appropriate for the season. s Many tables were set up Mound the room and simply loaded with goodies such as deviled eggs, tiny finger sandwiches of many varieties, a gigantic shrimp 'n' dip platter, potato chips, olives, pickles, delicious h o m,e -made cakes cookies and coffee. For liquid refreshments there was a large punch bowl filled with fruit punch and another filled with orange juice. 01n spite of the cold and snow outside, our thoughts turned to warmer climates, as we watch' ed the lovely scenes of Hawaii unfold. Ruth was prevailed upon to show the slides which the Smiths took on their recent trip to that Pacific isle. It Was absorbing and fascinating --to say the least! _ 'The women who constituted audience were associate fembers Laura Meyers of Johnsburg and Eleanor Brasser of Holiday Hills plus regular piembers Marie Howe, Lois Parenti, Laura Slater. Marge Stacknick, Louise Hammerstein, Mary Kantorski, Betty Poledna, Wilma Zody, Alice Gustafson, Katie Lennert, Edith Brendle, Emma Pyritz, Ingeborg Olsen, and your regarter. * Last but in no wise least-- Was the gift exchange.
