We would like to urge everyone to attend these meetings and participate in them. Many things of interest to all "of tis are discussed and acted upon at these meetings. All property owners are welcome to attend and put forth their ideas on the different subjects. We all have a personal, and a dollars and cents, interest in seeing that the community is kept up and the facilities improved. A strong, active association is our best means for accomplishing this. Therefore we urge everyone to attend these meetings or at least one member of each family. See you tomorrow night! ' Danger! Poison! Maybe you hfeve noticed how Children between 1 and 4 years t>f age will eat and drink anything they can get their hands bn and it doesn't have to be hutritious or even tasty. You name it--amonia, shellac, turpentine, clorox lye, and they'll feamplet it ' Now with spring cleaning coming up, cleaning supplies and painting needs are going to put even more temptation irktheir way. Before we have a real tragedy here, we urge all mothers and dads of these smaller children to put away up high, out of reach of the tots, all the supplies, etc. which are poisonous. St. Pat's Party The St. Patrick's party was held last Saturday night in our "community barn and proved to be a huge success. Approximately eighty homeowners and their guests turned out to celebrate the wearin' of the green. There were games, Marie Dalton and Bob Grom took first prize in a singing contest, and Nancy Lessard won the marble guessing game. If there had been prizes for lapel decorations, Ed Radner would have won hands down. Need I say more? An unexpected band, of a sort, showed up for a few laughs. Helen Birmingham. Lois Krebs, Lois McCormack, Larri Moore, and Peg Garrelts made up a kitchen band and turned up in everything from long underwear to coveralls, and from combat boots to hubby's work shoes. The selection they rendered was "McNamara's Band." They were a veiy bright spot of the evening to say the least. Helen Birmingham's mother. Mrs. Margaret tjeasy. gave us an ekhibjition on the Irish jig and gqochshe was begorra! All in *fljlv/-the "doings" proved a lot off:fun and the committee that $$ all the work .deserves a Jot of -credit, st> Helen and Tom j@ton^ngham, Lois Krebs, Lois McCormack, Larri Moore, Tom Simpson Pat Cisweski and Delores Woolwine, take your hows. • This and That Alford and- Ann Ritter entertained weekend guests, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ritter and their three children last week. We understand Lois Kreb's father, PhiHwiesenthal, of Chicago was operated on last Tuesday. Lois is spending a few days in the city to give him a bit of moral support. We hope he will be in the 100 per cent category real soon. The Bupco club met last week with Lillian Zgorski as hostess at her daughter's home. This w&s their St. Pat's party. Ann Ritter won first prize, Ericka Haldeman, second, and Lillian Zgorski, third. The next meeting will be held at Ericka Halderman s home. We are sorry to hear that Arlene Reid was taken to the hospital last Wednesday and had to spend a few days. She was able to come home over the weekend. A very speedy recovery, Arlene. Hugh Saynor is home on a vacation. We bet LaVerne can find plenty for him to do in the way of spring cleaning. Birthdays and Anniversaries Walt Garrelts celebrated his birthday last week with a family gathering including Mr. and Mrs. Charles O'Leary, and two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Atnainn and two children, |$r. arid Mr& "fheodore Garrelts. ftnd Richafd Garrelts, Danny; Stilling, and Bob and Rosie Newlon and two daughters. The men played cards and the gals had a gab fest. Refreshments were/served later to the evening. Young Miss Beth Hayes will celebrate her first birthday oh March 30. Dorothy Etternik celebrates on March 21 and Peg Garrelts on the twenty-fifth. Richard and Lydia Fenner celebrated seven years of married life on March 17, also Franlc and Delores Woolwine' on the seventeenth and the same number of years, seven. Congratulations to all the foregoing folks. Let's Get Acquainted with the Willard Barnes family. It took a long time but I finally met my next door neighbors getting this .information to pass along to you. Retraction Two weeks ago I wrote an article on the Presbyterian church reception for Rev. Jack Mdntyre. In this article there was a mistake which I would like to correct. Mrs. Harold Seebach presided at the tea table and presented Rev. Me- In tyre with the guest book.
