Ed Pfingsten and three of his Sea Scouts gave some quizes to the adults about 'teen-agers. One was on the latest 'Jivetalk' and one on our understanding of the ' teen-age boy. Tfiey were lots of fun as well as interesting. Committee reports were given by their chairmen. So far 80 percent of the Community lias joined the association'. Gene Heir had nothing new to report about barn improvements except that he could use some man power. Anyone interested in giving Gene a hand, he's Jisted in the phone book. Frorp all reports, the party goers who attended the New Year's Eve party had quite a good time. The ice carnival is being planned for the twenty-fourth and twent>vfifth of January. Don Dobecki is\n charge of the two-day affair and it sounds like loads of fun. On the twenty fourth there will be contests for sledding and tobogganing. Please register with Don for this event. It will start at 1 in the afternoon. On Sunday there will be ice skating races for the children and adults and a hockey game between the men and the boys. On Sunday the events will start at 12:45. There will be more details later. News about the Methodist church- that is being formed was given by George VanZevern. He reports that the first Sunday service will be held Feb. 1. at the community center and possibly three weeks later a Sunday school will be formed. A minister will be assigned, and it looks like a big step ahead for a church here for Pistakee Highlands as well as Pistakee Hills. Sunnyside, Johnsburg and other surrounding areas. Mrs. Erdmann gave a report on the Women's Club. They reported their Christmas party was a big success and thanked the women who helped decorate and serve for the 'teenage party. All the toys were hand-made,, and took much time and effort. The 'teen club reports that the play they have been working on had been postponed for two weeks.
