"Just For Fun" Skaters Veteran Skaters Place Again Mrs. Margaret Beamand and Mr. Robert Pedersen, veteran category skaters of the McHenry Skating Club "did it again" last Sunday at the roller dance competition in Harvey, Illinois. Placing second in the waltz and beating the current state champions, the veteran team (over 30 years of age) repeated their fine showing in the Blue at the McHenry Roller Rink's competition in December. Mr. Pedersen is a relative newcomer to the skating world, having entered competition for the first time last November. Mrs. Beaman has been engaged in competitive skating for the last three years and is enjoying the sport of roller skating with her two daughters, ages eleven and thirteen. Paul Jessup and John Sternickle, both juniors, are members of the squad and hope to earn letters! Jessup just recently broke into the starting lineup in the 123 pound class by beating out Paul Blake of Wlimette, Illinois. In two starts against Southern Illinois and Ohio State Jessup failed to gain a decision. Sternickle wrestles in the 177 pound division and is pressing Bruce Thompson of Winnetka, Illinois for a chance to start.
