On Sunday afternoon the Cub Scouts of Den 3 and the other dens in this area held their Blue and Gold banquet to which most of the boys received their awards. From Den 3 the boys who graduated into the Boy Scout Troop 161 were Bill Scheurr and Tommy hostler. Tommy Bostler also received his lion badge. Bill Daly received his denner stripes and Bobby Tobias, received his assistant denner stripes. The boys are working on a number of various projects and will be coming up with some interestings works to please everyone. Having Fun The home of Mrs. A1 Godina was alive with activity on Tuesday evening even . though the j weather wasn't too suitable for anyone to be out. Some of the ladies of the village had been invited to the Godina home for a demonstration of some very fine kitchen ware. The demonstrator proved to be just that and the large group of ladies enjoyed themselves very much. After lots of conversation and looking each item over the ladies were served a delicious assortment of salads, cheese, cookies, cake and ev-.j erything that tastes so good later in the evening. Those who didn't venture out that evening really missed having a grand time. More of these get togethers are being planned so don't miss the next one. Sick List John Kraus had a severe case of the nasty old virus that can sneak up on us without much warning and was confined to his home for the past week. After a visit with the doctor John is now up and ready to go. Sure glad to have you feeling your old self again. Mrs. Judy Huemann (Judy Di Cicco) has been confined at! the home of Ben DiCicco and also at the McHenry hospital from the virus that is . going around this area. Judy has been visiting here for the past three weeks with her infant I son and her husband arrivedj on Monday from his service j headquarters in Montana. Frank MacLaughlin, Mrs. Armin Obstfelder and my-i self with seven other members of the Sunnyside unit went to| Cary last Thursday for a uniti meeting and most of us were j introduced to our new local; loader, Mrs. Olson, for the! first time. We were all individually introduced ^nd each I one of us told of our pet peeve that went on in the living room.. I guess most of us were unanimous about too much TV and eating while watching it. We were all pleased with the evening and were glad we had gone. Birthdays Larry Cammarata whose birthday was the eighteenth of February celebrated it the Sunday before when some of his relations came out from Chicago to help. Bringing gifts were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sciamenti and family and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nozza and family They were all surprised to see that we still had so much, snow out here. Sick List Little Jimmie Kaiser is home from the hospital and is doing nicely. Lynne Schuman is back home from the hospital after a few days there for some surgery and it shouldn't be too' long before she will be up and around playing with her sisters. Marfy' Kay Fredrichs has been home sick also. Your delivery boy spent the weekend doctoring up a bad cold. We haven't heard any thing more about Mrs. Plank. Well, I guess this is about th£ shortest column I've had in a long time, so how about calling in with some news no matter how unimportant it may seem.
