/'• / Thursday, April 2. 1959 OBITUARIES THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER Minnie Kamholz "" Mrs. Minnie Kamholz, 76, a native of McHenry and a Cary resident for fifty-six years, died at noon Sunday, March 29, in Snerman hospital, Elgin. The deceased was born Dec. 1882, the daughter of William and Emilia Eichsteadt Feltz. * c Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death. She is survived by the widower, Herman, whom she married in 1903; a son, Gordon of Cary; three grandchildren and four ^yeat-grandchildren. Services were held from Holy Cross Lutheran church Wednesday morning, followed by burial in Woodland cemetery. Pearl Bischoff Last rites were held Tuesday afternoon from the Merwin funeral home in Woodstock for Mrs. Pearl A. Bischoff, 67, of ".-Woodstock, who died Saturday night, March 28,. in Memorial i^bspital. She was born in Chi- 4. cago in 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hutson, who came to Illinois before the Civil war. Mrs. Bischoff was well known in this community. The widower, Charles G. Bischoff, and a daughter, Henriette Gebert, of Chicago survive. Catherine Carstens Mrs. Catherine Rose Carstis, 50, of Charles street, McHenry, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 28, in McHenry hospital, where she had been a patient for only a few hours. The deceased was born Sept. 10, 1908. in Baton Rouge, La., and had resided in McHenry for the past eight years. Survivors include the widower, Elmer; a daughter, Mrs. gliomas Landre, of McHenry; a son, Kit, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Pastore of McHenry and Mrs. Anna Parla; two brothers, George and Charles, and two grandchildren. The body rested at the George Justen & Son funeral home until Tuesday morning, when last rites were conducted from St. Patrick's church, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery. ' m Geraldine Ugaste Mrs Geraldine Ugaste, 41, of Chicago and McHenry, a daughter of Mrs. Edward Easterly. Sr., of Barrington, died in Victory Memorial hospital, Waukegan. The family had been summer residents of Pistakee Bay. Survivors include her husband, Charles, and a daughter, Xierl.yn 17; also a sister, Mrs. •Rnton Lutz, of McHenry. Burial was in Evergreen cem- - etery. Barrington. Mrs. John Keg Mrs. John Keg of 1019 Greenwood avenue, Deerfield, a former McHenry resident , died last week. Services were held last Saturday from a funeral • home at 825 Waukegan road in that city. ^ Survivors include a daughter, ^jfuanita McChesney; two grandchildren and three great-grand- / children. Max Earl Dusthimer Last rites were held in Crystal Lake on Saturday after- •• noon for Max Earl Dusthimer, 58, of West Shore Beafch, Mc- Cullom Lake, who died March 25 in Paris. 111. The body rested at the Querhammer funeral home in Crystal Lake, where Rev. Lloyd Coleman, pastor of the Community Methodist church, officiated at last rites Saturday. Eurial was in Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery. Joseph Szwedo Joseph Szwedo, 72, of Rt. 4, McHenry, died in the county home at Hartland last Thursday. March 26. He was born in Poland on Jan. 22, 1887, and was a barber by trade. He is survived by a son, Louis, of McHenry; five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Jankowski, of Woodstock. His wife, Rose, preceded him in death in September of 1958. Services were held Saturday afternoon from the Schneider- Luecht funeral home in Woodstock. with Rev. George Martin of the Community Methodist church in McHenry officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Patrick Barrett Patrick Barrett, 70, the Uncle Ezra of WLS barn dance fame, died last Wednesday night. March 25, in Harvard hospital, following a long period of poor health. He had resided near Hebron for almost twenty years, since his retirement. He was born Sept. 27, 1888, in Holden, Mo. His only immediate survivor is his widow, Nora. The deceased was a member of the Elk§ lodge at Woodstock. Services were held last Friday in Chicago, with burial in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Dennis R. Kosup, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis H. Kosup of McHenry. landed with the 1st Marine brigade on the beeaches of Camp Pendleton in Southern California on April 1, marking the start of "Operation Big Land," a coordinated surface-air amphibious assault exercise. The Hawaii - based Marines left Kaneohe in mid-March on amphibious ships returning from the Western Pacific. A short time will be spent at Camp Pendleton for field exercises before the beginning of "Big Land" Dennis E. Litwin, fire control technician seaman, USN. son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Litwin of McHenry returned to Norfolk, Va., March 12 aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Forrestal after a tour of duty with the U.S. Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. Hammershoy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hammershoy of McHenry took part in a desert war training exercise recently in the Southern California desert near the 29 Palms Marine Corps base. Arrange For Club Afterglo The annual post-prom party and banquet known as Club Afterglo is now being planned by the three sponsoring organizations, the McHenry Township Kiwanis club, the McHenry Kiwanis club and the McHenry Veterans of Foreign Wars. This annual event was begun several years ago to provide suitable facilities after the high school prom so that students could avoid travelling long distances on the highway for the special entertainment usually offered only in larger cities. The young people do all of the planning and make arrangements. in cooperation with supervisors of the school and the sponsoring groups.. Recently, some of the students met with the township club, after which it Was announced that the 1959 event is planned for May 9 at the Wing n Fin clubhouse. A total of 150 bids will be sold. >' Entertainment has not been arranged at this time, but well known performers will be secured as in the past. ew& GAS AVAILABILITY Federal Power commission action last week brought additional natural gas supplies closer to about 50,000 Northern Illinois Gas Company customers who are on the utility's house heat waifing list. An FPC examiner approved Northern Natural Gas company's petition Tiled last year for authority to deliver 50 million cubic feet of gas daily to NI-Gas. Objectors have 20 days to file "exceptions" to this action. Then the FPC must review the questions and reach its own decision.
