I'm sure most of us have enjoyed these annual events in the past and are looking forward to another wonderful time this year. Following a short business meeting, a social evening for one and all is planned. Please note the date is Mai' 4,and not May 2 as it appeared by error in last week's column. Hope to see all of .Vbu there next Monday evening. Installation Held By Court Over sixty members of St. Agatha's Court No. 777 gathered in the. community club hall last Tuesday evening to witness the installation of the Court's new officers. Charlene Freund played the march as four young ladies dressed beautifully in formal attire escorted the new officers to their stations. The young ladies were Kay Hiller, Judy Michels, Harriett Daly and Roselle Stilling. Following the regular business meeting, the officers were placed in their new positions ready to undertake their duties. A prayer closed their meeting after which the ladies enjoyed playing pinochle and canasta. Refreshments, were served by the committee in charge. Birthday Girls Both Lorraine Thompson and Mary O'Connor were feted recently with parties honoring their natal days. Lorraine entertained her young friends at her home last week to * celebrate her eighth birthday. After games of various nature were played the girls proceeded to consume barbecues, cake, ice cream., etc., in large quantities. Present at the Thompson home were: Karen Boesenberg, Jean Hettermann, Cecelia Freund, Emily Draper, Jo Ann Freund, Joy Hettermann. Darlette Freund and Mary Ellen Mclnerney. On Saturday, little Mary was hostess to the young female members of her subdivision. Each of the girls came dressed in their frills and bows and bearing a gift in hand for the birthday celebrant. Sharing in on the fun of Mary's sixth birthday were: Lynn Letzter, diane Sehlueter, Maureen, CVist, Joy and Karen Hettermann and Terry Kruger. Ed Hettermann's. Hope we see you all there bright and early next Tuesday morning. Joluisburg Boys League Field tryouts for selection of teams for the Johnsburg boys league will take place on May 12 at the public school baseball diamond. In case of rain tryouts will be held on May 14. Starting time will be at 7 p.m. Parents are asked to accompany their boys at this time. Father Succumbs Our community joins in extending their sympathies to Mrs. Ruth Martinec whose father passed away last Wednesday afternoon. George Kiddlesen. who resided for several years in Cooney Heights, sucsumbed at the Woodstock hospital where he had been a patient for almost a week. He is survived by his widow, two other daughters and a son. Two sons preceded him in death last year. Registration Reminder Kindergarten registration will be held on May 11. 12 and 13 in the Johnsburg public school. If you have a child who will be five before December 1 of this year, please register him between the hours of 9 and 12. witness the installation. Mrs. Marie O e f f 1 i n g, chief ranger of the adult court, acted as installing officers while Jean and Joy Hettermann who were attired in blue and yellow formals took part as special conductors. Laura Schmitt and Nancy Weber are the juvenile directors. Lunch was served to the young ladies following an afternoon of game playing. Around the Town The seventh and eighth graders of St. John's school were a/ St. Mary's church in Woodstock. last Tuesday morning to participate in the Mass. Transportation of the young people was provided by various mothers of the school children. Girl Scouts and Brownie News Troop 135 met in.the basemen t of the Ben Thelen home last Monday afternoon. The girls rehearsed their play which Thoy will dramatize for their fathers at the banquet later this week; They also worked on their centerpiece which is to be part of the table decoration for tne banquet. Last Wednesday found troop 3"8 taking advantage of the beautiful weather. In place of xne regular meeting, the girls and their leaders took a penny hike within the subdivision. Jo Ann Freund treated the troop to cup cakes which were served with milk picnic style. The girls practiced .their skit which they will put- on at the tea on May 21. Troop 408 held its business meeting followed by the rehearsing of its skit for the Father- Daughter banquet. Art Fair Deadline Please remember the entry deadine for submitting your art work to be shown at the third annual Art Fair in McHenry is May 18. Please contact Mrs. Richard Wilhelm by calling 128-M if you would like an entry form or if you should like some questions answered in regards to the art fair. Help! Help! Help! And more help is needed to clean our church next Tuesday morning following the 8 o'clock Mass. The more help that shows up, the sooner we can all get through. If anyone would like to make a food donation for the dinner upon completion of the cleaning, kindly drop- it off at Troop 295 finished up making the corsages which they will present to all the mothers who attend the tea in May. Mary Jo Haag was cookie hostess for this meeting. Juvenile Installation The juvenile members of St. Agatha Court No. 777 held their installation of officers at the community club hall last Sunday afternoon. Forty-six juvenile members and four adult members were present to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Boyk and family and Mr. and Mrs. Vin Krete and daughters all of Chicago, were Sunday visitors at the Ed Hettermanns. Friends of Mrs. Helen Pitzen wil be interested to learn she has been moved from the Woodstock hospital to the Villa Rest home. She has enjoyed receiving her many cards and hopes to continue hearing from her triends. Please remember the St. John's P.T.A. meeting coming up on May 18. Special guest speaker will be Father Baumhofer. Spring Dance Don't forgpt to attend the spring dance which this year is being held on May 2 at the American Legion hall starting at 9 p.m. Tickets can be pur- Rescue Squad and Fire Calls The members of the Johnsburg rescue squad were called to the scene of an accident one mile east of the Skyline theater on April 22 at 3:30 p.m. A car driven by James Gardner of Route 1 overturned. The occupant was taken to the McHenry hospital where he was treated for lacerations abrasions of the arm and shoulder. The firemen of station 2 were called to Pistakee Highlands on April 24 at 1:55 in the morning. The chair in which Mrs. Dorothy Rodarmel had been sitting was smouldering from a cigarette burn. When the firemen had reached the csene Mrs. Rodarmel had carried the chair outside and collapsed along side it. The members of the rescue squad were on hand to administer first aid treatment. What a blessing it is to know our rescue squad truck follows all „ house fire calls! If it hadn't been for these boys being on the scene at that precise moment," Mrs. Rodarmel may not be alive today. The squad took her to the McHenry hospital where she was found to be suffering from shock and smoke inhalation. She was transferred from McHenry to the Woodstock hospital by ambulance. chased through your block captains or at the door. Delicious refreshments wfere served and a good time was had by all. Catholic church, the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist: Kathy Becker, Douglas Belohavy, Philip Bucaro, Sandra Dawson, Bradford Grote, Robert Kroening, Frank Moran, Jo- Ann Rizzo and Gregory Uhles. Parties honoring these children were held by their families and as we passed some of the homes some sure seemed like they may have had a house full. Happy Birthday To Kenny Becker who celebrated his seventh birthday on April 18 and had his birthday party on April 21.
