The batting star was Jack Schaefer with thre£ hits 4n five trips to the plate. Don •Bentz. Denny Freund, Roger -Benson and Joe Stanek each •had two hits. Denny Freund 'and Chuck Olson drove in two each. Denny Freund hit his first homer «of the year. The Shamrocks scored their •first run in the third when Don Bentz lead off with a single and, stole second. After jjfreund grounded out, Bentz Hflarne home on Chuck Olson's JjSingle. The Shamrocks scored 5#wo more in the fifth when jfaek Schaefer lead off with a Single, and Don Beni? also fjlowed with a single and both gunners advanced on a wild pitch. Both runners scored when Chuck Olson hit a pOp- JIP, caught by the shortstop in short left. Schaefer scored after the catch and Bentz scored when the ball got away from the catcher. With Elgin leading 8-3 going into the ninth, McHenry scored -toir runs when Rab Weber lAd off with a single. Weber -scored on a triple by Joe Stanek. Tom Roti's fly to center scqred Joe Stanek. PONY GRADS BREAK EVEN IN TWO GAMES HURT IN ACCIDENT Shirley Ozog and Ruth Hauptmann of Lakeland Park were injured orf the evening of June 10 in an accident which occurred near McHenry. Bill DeCicco went the full 7 innings and pitched a good game allowing 3 hits and struck out 10. It was Bill's second win With no defeats. Paul Morenz continued in his fine hitting stride as he drove in 4 runs for the third successive game. Jack Adams ' drove in 3 runs and DeCicco and Aguirre each drove in one run. TIGERS BLAST DUNDEE 142 BEHINDJUTZ Elgin Braves Will Be At Johnsburg Friday Evening By Lee HiUer The Johnsburg Tigers, behind five hit pitching by Terry Britz, beat the Dundee Evergreens Sunday before one of the best crowds of the year. The Tigers poked out eighteen hits to make their best scoring output of the year. John Huff lead off the first inning with a base on balls with Frett following -with a single. Frett stole second and both runners scored on Art Jackson's hit to center. They added another in the third on a lead-off hit by Huff. Two outs later Jackson again singled to put men on first and third. John Huff stole home and Jackson was out going to second to end the inning. In the five run fifth Huff, Frett, Lloyd Freund and Jackson had consecutive hits. Oefflins followed with a walk and Miller doubled to right to put the game on ice. The Tigers scored three .more in each the seventh and eighth. Dundee scored their two runs in the fourth on a walk to Fritz and hits by Poffpaff. Vern Hopp, Rich Hopp, Wright and Gerry Hopp. Terry Britz turned in another fine performance in allowing only two walks and striking out nine batters while hitting one batter.
