Pag» Twenty-Two TttE McHENRY PLAINDEALER Thursday, July 16, lf59 Lakeland Park PROPERTY OWNERS VOTED AGAINST ROAD ASSESSMENT Vickie Bottari--1 >42-J - 1524-J At the Lakeland Park Property Owners association meeting held on Sunday night the proposed road assessment was voted down by a vote of 113 to 66 making this just a few short of the two-third majority needed to pass anything that is proposed. This is really a shame because we could have had half way decent roads for such a small amount. As it now stands the1 board will contract to have the roads graded as best they can with the money in the fund which you know < is not a great deal at the present time. It is going to be at least a whole month 'before.; the special meet inn voted • on I can be called, this will make it too late to go ahead with the original road., proposal. By voting it out. we missed out on the roads we all said we would giad'y pay for. As far as the park site is concerned, as soon as possible, Ihe grading will be finished, possibly this week and then Mr. Glosson will come in with the top soil and get this ready Tor seeding and then the community house will be started, possibly in a couple of weeks. The loan has come through and everything is in perfect order to start so keep looking that way for soon our (Jream of a community house will be no longer a dream but an actual finished building. As far as the taxes are concerned this was explained by the attorney who attended the meeting and if anything can be done he will see to it that it "is done as soon as possible and we will be hear- : ing from him in regard to | this matter. Annual Picnic i The'annual picnic held at the I Hay Franklin home since they ! have been living out here took place last Saturday afternoon and the following were out to enjoy a very perfect day filled with lots of Oh's and All's over the addition to Marge's home which is really a very beaUt ilul room. Those who came out ladden with food and for the games afterwards were Mr. and Mrs. M. Siwelt and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. Eiden and family and Mrs. Lucille Eichinger and family and of course last but not least the whole Franklin family.. emergency appendectomy. Her mother, Dotty, said the poor little thing didn't even so much as utter a sound even when they came to take her up to 1 the operating room. She's only j 8 years old and she just showed j how brave a little girl can I really be She should be home ; by the time this issue is re- Iceivcd b.v you and I am sure ; that she will be hapffy to see her little friends who will go visit her and she can tell them all about her big operation. I Pleasant avenue, but still at j the same time very happy to ; nee them move into their very beautiful new home which is j on Home and C^hter in Lakei land Shores. May you and your family have as many happy ' years and then some, as you ! had in your old home. In Hospital Little Kathv Becker was taken to the Woodstock hospital last Friday afternoon and at 6 p.m. she underwent an Surgery Vincent Cina entered the Mc- Henry hospital on Tuesday and he will be there for about a week at which time he will undergo surgery on his nose which has been giving him some trouble for a while. i Vacation ! Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Geram- ! bio and their son. Tommy, just | came back from a week's fishj ing vacation up in Northern i Wisconsin and they sure did ! bring home some nice looking | fish. I've been one of the lucky i ones to get one from them but 11 will have to keep it frozen ! until my mom gets here in, a | week or so, because I don't i know the first thing about j cleaning the scales off a fish. New Home j Sympathy I sure hated to see the Frank | Our sympathy is extended Parisi family move away from < to I. Becker on the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Muske, of South Haven, Mich., who djed last week. She is survived by three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren arid one, Irvin Becker, Sr. So essential to the successful tour is TV for the average vacationing family that a despairing tourist has been known to turn y down the last available motel room in a resort town on a Saturday evening and drive off toward the next town, fifty miles away, because that last room was equipped with nothing but tiled bathroom with tub and shower, carpeted floor, etc., but only a radio. Trade in McHenry depends upon two factors: town loyalty on the part of the buyers and goo$ merchandise on the part of the sellers. TOTE-BRUSH DENTAL KIT MILLSTREAM DRUGS -- WALQREEN AQENCY -- 315 W.
