(For publication July 23) GOOD RECIPE FOR BECOMING WEALTHY EDITOR We enjoyed the following, which appeared in the Itawamba County Times, Fulton, Miss., and thought our readers might do likewise. "The reason editors become wealthy is easy to understand. A c&ild is born, the attending physician gets $100.00. The editor gives the loudmouthed baby and the happy parents a send-off and get $000.00. When it is baptized, the minister receives $10.00. The editor gets $00.00. It grows up and marries. The editor publishes another long-wind article, and tells a dozen lies about the beautiful bride. The minister gets $25.00 and a piece of the wedding cake and cup of punch. The editor gets $00.00. "In the course of time, it dies, the doctor receives from $25.00 to $1,000.00. The undertaker receives $500.00 to $2,- 000, the minister receives another $25.00. The editor publishes a notice of the death and obituary two columns long, lodge and society resolutions, a lot of poetry, and a card of thanks and receives $1.00 (sometimes). "That is how editors become wealthy." Queen Elizabeth II was the first British monarch who was outside of Great Britain at the time of succession to the throne. Elizabeth was in Kenya on a round-the-world tour when George VI died.
