Dr. and Mrs. James McMahon were chairmen for the Saturday night dinner dance and were assisted by the greatest committee: Mr. and Mrs. 1 Ben Francke, Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Pomierski, Dr. and Mrs. A1 Pomierski, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kellogg and Mr. John Maselter. Party treasurer was Mr. Chris Jepsen. The Sunday race was as exciting a race as we've seen sailed in a goGd breeze with skipper Bill Slater in Y1 in 1st place; skipper Fred Gohl, Y42 in 2nd place, and skipper Don Looze, Ylll in 3rd place. The Dinghy fleet wound up the season bubbling over with enthusiasm. First place on Sunday went to Henry De- Young, 2nd place to Jack Looze and 3rd place to Danny Arkema. TT\e annual Mixed Crew race was held Monday morning with skipper Don Looze and his crew Audrei Lee and John Maselter, Ylll coming in first place. On Monday afternoon skipper Norm Reese, Y27, won the Joseph F. Haas Challenge Trophy. and he also drove in the winning run on a fielder's choice. Roti had two .hits as did Freund, Benson. Going into the 7th it was all tied up at 9-9. Ed Todd led off the 7th with a walk, Ernie Berez forced Todd at second then George Street tripled for one run, Dick Grau hit a sacrifice fly to left for two runs and two outs, Bill Schmidt reached first on an error, Len Jensen tripled to right, Ken Brand singled and Don Sullivan hit a triple to right good for 5 runs, For Old Bridge Dick Michels hit a three run homer in the 3rd. Hettermann's big 2nd inning, started out with 3 straight errors by Bimbo's along with hits by Tom Oeffling. Lloyd Freund and a 2 run homer by Dick Hiller. In the 4th after two outs Hiller doubled. Bud Miller singled and Dick Marsh tripled good for 2 runs. Bimbo's big 6th inning started with Cuda hitting a single. Payne doubled and when Cliff Fulton's fly-ball was dropped all 3 runs scored. Golbeck then hit a homer over the left field wall, an error and a single scored the 5th run. Thursday night Hettermann and McCullom Lake went at it in the first game with Hettermann coming out on top 12-7. Lead by Lloyd Freund and Dick Hiller. Hettermann scored 3 runs in the first on«Lloyd Freund's triple. Hiller's doul^e. 2 errors, and a single by Jim Freund. In the 3rd Lloyd Freund and Buddy Miller hit homers and in the 6th Paul Bruhn singled, Carl Neiss tripled and Dick Hiller doubled for 2 more runs. McCttllom Lake came right back pi the first with three of their own runs on singles by Laurence, Todd and Street and .a triple by Ernie Berez. In the second Koutney singled and Lawrence homered him in. The*vj 5th started out with Lawre^e getting his third straight hit, Ed Todd tripled him home, and ^Todd scored when Berez grounded out.
