Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. There is no maximum age limit.Ex-service men and women are given a five point advantage on examinations, while disabled veterans are allowed ten points. This is an important public service. Six rural routes serve approximaately 17,276 people five city routes serve about 8,908 people, while 1,620 people receive service through post office boxes at the main office and station. This makes a tota] of 27,804 men, women and children will receive mail through local facilities. The figures quoted are arrived at by counting all the families served by the post office and multiplying by four, the average family.
