Tornado Hits McHenry By this time everyone has either seen or heard of the gre^t damage done in various sectwns of McHenry by the tornado that hit there last Thursday evening. But I think it is only fair to give credit where credit is due at a time like this. The members of our rescue squad and the volunteer firemen o| station 2 spent several hours m McHenry following the storm. The men worked along with other volunteers aiding persons hit by the tornado, cleaning up debris and re-routing traffic. "Hats off" to all who participated in doing their part in easing the shock of what could have been really disasterous. We should join in a little prayer of thankfullness, that more persons were not injured. Teen-ager Reigns as King Once more our local 'teenagers make the news and once again we have a homecoming king or queen from our town. Bill Oeffling, son of Alfred and Marie, was chosen over his other five contenders to reign as homecoming king. Judy HanS was crowned queen of the homecoming. Many of our local high school seniors were rewarded for thefr Ton^ nours of work on their float when they won first prize after the parade. This class has won first prize in the float competition for four years running. Brownie News Troops 295 and 378 met at their regular meeting place in the public school last Wednesday afternoon.
