Members of Brownie troop 378 were busily working on their homemade Christmas ' curds at their last meeting, "iroy are constructing their cards which they will present to their parents during the forthcoming yuletide season. The girls stopped only long enough to enjoy the cookie treat by Kristine Kerr. Recently members of Intermediate troop number 408 took their clown bean bags, which the girls made themselves, hyie to surprise someone. This iroeting was brought to a close with a goodnight circle. At their meeting which was held on Nov. 30, the girls and their leaders made plans for Christmas caroling. They had quite a bit of fun practicing several of their favorite carols. The girls bubbled with excitement as they planned their holiday party. This meeting ad- «rned with the singing of s. Troop 295, which meets each Wednesday afternoon in the public school, continues to wqfk on its decorations for the Christmas luncheon. The girls also brushed up on their carols they will sing when they tour the town on Dec. 22. Father Passes On ' Our community joins in relaying its deepest sympathy to Mrs. Catherine Fredrick of Sunnyside. Mrs. Fredrick's father, Paul Gerasch, passed away Tuesday morning at St. Therese's hospital. Catherine is the president of St. John's Home and School association. the girl juvenile Foresters will bring to their pot-luck lunch next Sunday, Dec. 13. The girls will gather at 1 p.m. in the community club hall. Please remember to bring your exchange gift. All girl Foresters are invited to attend and any mother who would like to lend a hand is also invited. Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult. Next Tuesday -evening at 6:30, the officers and members of St. Agatha's court No. 777 will hold their holiday pot-luck dinner and gift exchange. A food shower for the sisters will also be on the agenda for the evening. Names of those to serve on the committee for this party appeared in last week's copy of this column. Receives Award Our congratulations to Harry Hettermann who was chosen as "the most valuable player" of the McHenry high school football team. This announcement was made at last week's banquet sponsored by the Kiwanis. This banquet was well represented by Harry's team mates., their parents along with his proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
