Thursday, December 10, 1959 Lakemoor BUILDING BOOM IN PROGRESS AT LAKEMOOR THE McHENRT PLAINDEALER by Annette Schmit J^eems that many of the residents of this village are well becoming aware of the fact that this section is fast becoming the metropolitan area of Chicago. Building has progressed on quite a few homes on the north side of the lake. Lakemoor, with its natural beauty and picturesque setting, provides everything needed for family living. This recent boom sure-fire proof of pride in Home and community. Transferred Word comes to us that our former Boy-Scout leader, Cliff Todd, has recently received his transfer. He is now "at home" at Fort McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas. Cliff will no doubt receive his copy of the Plaindealer in Kansas and we wnt him to know that we are all thinking of him back here at home. Returns From Europe Mrs. Rena Pogany returned home from Italy the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and, although elated at bein^ back with her own little family, we detected a glint of homesickr^ fcss in her pretty brown eyes, l^r reports on her family were frame of mind, and is coming sister was a gala affair, and she says her mama is as beautiful as she always remembered her to be. Her father, having suffered a stroke some time back, is in a very good framt of mind, and is coming along as well as can be expected. We're glad you had aifh a good time, Rena, but we sWe are glad to have you back home again. With you gone like that, a part of the heart of the village went with you. Welcome home! Bob and Julia have four of the cutest children jfln've ever seen. They are Nancy, 12, Kathy, 9, Raymond, 4, and little Jean. 2. This family is one to be proud of. The parents, Bob anJ Julia, are young and about the sweetest people you'd ever like to meet. The children, like all children, are a hustle-bustle of activity all the time. They're tops! A special new hello to a very old neighbor. Many residents will remember Mr. and Mrs. Quick formerly of Lilymoor. They have recently become our new neighbors here in Lakemoor and are now at home at 226 N. Pine Grove road. Mr. and Mrs. Quick are the parents of two married sons and one son serving with Uncle Sam in Louisiana. They are the proud grandparents of three very lively grandchildren. We are glad to have you fine folks with us, and hope you will be very happy here in your new residence. Denny's Coming H tine When this edition hits the streets, the village will come alive with the welcoming home of one of its sons. Dennis Kossup is expected to arrive home from Hawaii on Dec. 10. Hi- Denny. . what took ya' so long? Welcome home. Deck the Halls And the big tree with the beautiful lights again will grace the front of the Fire- Community house. The wide eyes of the little urchins will reflect the glory of the new born Christ child. The carols will ring in their ears and the sight of Santa Claus will set all tiny toes to tingling. Santa is coming to the fire house to see that all good little girls and boys get what's coming to them. Almost every home has been contacted and tickets have been distributed for each child in the village limits to received his own personal gift. If you have a child under thirteen in your house and have not as yet been contacted, please call Mrs. Dorothy Bonder so that your child will not be left out this ^Christmas. Ladies League The Ladies League met last Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Fire- Community house, at which time the decision to hold their annual Christmas dinner at the Chapel Hill Country club was made. The dinner date is set at Dec. 9. Mrs. Steadman and | Mrs. Simmons were hostesses i for the meeting. Refreshments j were served. L.I.A. Channel Skating The squeals of glee that were heard on the south side of the lake were those of the delighted youngsters who were ice-skating for the first rime this season. The ice in the channel has been tested and has proved satisfactory for skating. Don't be misled, tho, the last report on the lake itself was that as yet, it is not ready. The channcl is more shallow, and therefore provides more safety. Patient In more ways than one, John Sovsky has been patient. Patient in his ever suffering of asthma. Patient in his constant fight of this dread disease. And now -- a patient at Mc- Henry hospital with another attack. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery. John.
