Following the business meeting. Fern Tipperreiter was most pleasantly surprised with a 'This is Your Life" birthday party. The remainder of the evening was j spent playing games. Woman's Club Plans For Christmas Party The December meeting of the Woman's club will be held at the Legion home on Friday, Dec. 11, at which time Miss Ethel Johes will present a gift wrapping demonstration. There will also be Christmas music. Members are asked to bring clothes in good condition, or gifts (new or used, for the needy) instead of the usual one dollar gift exchange. Mrs. Daniel W. Knapp is chairman and Mrs. Walter Carlson, co-chairman. Others on the committee are Mesdames Lillian Cox, D. A. Hopfear, Frank Beatty, Eleanor Renard Ludwig Kaeuffl, Harold Seebach, Gottfried Krapf and C. J. Reihansperger. Saturday, Dec. 5. members of Girl Scout Troops 454 and 478 of Holiday Hills travelled to Chicago to visit the Museum of Science and Industry. Since the girls, together with their leaders and assisting mothers, numbered almost forty. a bus was chartered to transport them. LEONARD FREUND NAMED PRESIDENT TOWNSHIP KIWANIS New officers were elected to the McHenry Township Kiwanis club last week. They were Leonard Freund, president;. Allen Schimke, vice-president; Joe Sullivan, secretary; and Guy White, treasurer. They will take office the first of the year and installation ceremonies will be held the second week in January. Kiwanians voted to sponsor Cub Scouting at the Lake Monday night in response to an appeal from Judy Rasmus-! sen, secretary, and Stanley j Hunt, organizational representative. who appeared at the meeting with their request. The Rev. John Paul Edcly of Greenwood Methodist church was also a dinner guest. In other recent action, the Township club donated $100 to the Woodstock children's home. The money was raised on ticket sales to the twelfth annual football banquet, for which Horace Wagner and Guy White w e r e c o - c h a i r m e n f o r t h e township club. Balance of the profit is used by the club for needy families at the Lake. Clothing has been made available as needed, and Christmas baskets and fuel oil will be provided, under the direction of Mike Herman, boys' and girls' work chairman.
