Thursday, January 14, 1960 jr ' THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER •MA-#--- Wonder Lake Skating Lessons At Center Beach Jane Ducey • t Michael Kirby, ex-partner of skater Sonja Henie, will be at Wonder Lake Saturday, Jan. 16. from 1 ^to 4 p.m., to g:ve ice skating instruction, free of charge, to the public. The project is sponsored by the Wonder Lake Homeowner's Advisory Board and will take place at the Wonder Center beach. The subdivision board Jias made their beach available ^o all. Lake subdivisions lor skating this season. If the i£e is not suitable for skating, Mr. Kirby will give "dry" instruction, which he considers important and fundamental to good skating. Kirby will provide an instructor for each fifty people attending. An ice skating rink at Wonder (Renter beach has been one >.|bf the aims of the advisory Tt>oare| to provide recreation for the youth of the community. Steve Simon has volunteered to keep the ice free of snow for the season. The fire department will take care of flooding the ice, if and when it is needed. Born at Memorial hospital Nov. 27, this premature baby had to stay on in the hospital for, 7 weeks before his eager family could finally be allowed to fondle him. He's getting; plenty of t.l.c these days, you can bet. Teen Age Dance Another 'teen-age dance has been arranged by the Wonder Lake Homeowners Advisory Board to be held Friday, Jan. 29, at Mathews hall. They made the trip by car arid other than a day and a half lay-rover in Georgia with a broken axle, the trip was a delight and the weather ideal. They spent two weeks in Opa Locka visiting Bill's mother. Mrs. Nels Larsen and went deep sea fisjhing in Biscayne Bay witjh Bill's sister. Mrs. Don Behrens and family, formerly of Hebron. INCREASE NURSE FEES Fees , for registered professional nurses doing private duty in Lake and McHenry counties will be $20 per eight hour shift, effective Feb. 15, it was announced by Mrs. Glendora Hanson, R.N., chairman of the private duty nurse's section. District 16, Illinois Nurses' association. Mrs. Hanson said, "The professional private duty nurses in District 16 decided on the increase of fee from $18'to $20 per ^ight-hour shift only after careful investigation indicated it was necessary both from the standpoint of the public and the nurses. Private duty must be as financially attractive as other assignments or there will not be enough professional nurses in the field to meet critical service demands."
