A-Z Club Meets At Para Residence The last meeting of the A-Z club was held ai the home of Freund-Chase Vows Exchanged St. John's church at Johnsburg was the scene of a beautiful wgdding solemnized at , 10:30* o'clock Jan. 16, when Miss Janice Freund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Freund of Pistakee Bay, was united in marriage to Mr. Wayne Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chase of Milwaukee. Wis. Rev. Fr. Anger officiated at the ceremony, "the altar was decorated with yellow and white glads. ' The charming bride chose an eleven-tiered chantilly lace, floor length gown, with long sleeves and demure neckline. Her silk illusion fingertip Veil fell from an imported Swiss braid crown, trimmed with pearls. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace, and she Carried a cascade bouquet of white glads and stephanotis. Her attendants were Carol Frisby of Johnsburg and Barbara Rauen of Pistakee Bay. They were attired in Emerald, green, iridescent taffeta, waltz length gowns with fitted bodices. elbow length sleeves and small bustle backs. Each wore matching Swiss braid orown headpieces, with circular veils trimmed with rhinestones and matching gloves. They carried yellow glads. The groom was attended by Albert Freund of Spring Grove and Allen Lilligard of Crystal Lake. Ushers were Kenneth Freund, brother of the bride, and Daniel Chase, the groom's brother. A receptto&^and dinner followed at #ne* home of the' bride's parents at Pistakee Bay. The bride graduated from McHenry high school in 1959 and the groom from Crystal Lake high school in 1956. After a short wedding trip, they will be at home in Carpenters ville. MEMBERSHIP DEADLINES FOR CHORAL CLUB SET Alpha Theta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma society met at the home of Miss Nellie Doherty last Monday evening for the January meeting of the group. Thirty-four members were present from Crystal Lake, McHenry, Harvard, Marengo. Woodstock and Richmond. J In the absence of the president. Faith Harrington of Crystal Lake, the business meeting was conducted by Ethel McGee, first vice-president. Members were asked to make plans to attend the silver anniversary convention which will be held' in April in Chicago. A now member initiated at the December meeting in Crystal Lake, Miss Barbara Hirt, was introduced and welcomed to her first meeting. Miss Hirt is a primary teacher at Edge.r brook. The program for the evening was entitled "Merit Rating for Teachers". Members of the committee on the panel who discussed the topic were Ruth Wilson, Woodstock, chairman. Bridal Couple Walter Aregger, son of the Alfred Areggers of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of McCul- In spite of inclement vveather, twenty members of the McHenry Choral club met last Monday riigHt to proceed With plans and. rehearsals for the spring program, the dates of which -Will be April 30 and May 1. Members voted to set Monday, Feb. 8, as the deadline for members who will be included in special parts of the program. Those who joirt for participation only in the chorus Vrtny join throughout the month of February. A theme, "One World In Song", has been selected, and the singers will visit fouj continents as they present a program which will feature characteristic music of the. various countries. Choral selections will include South American Fantasy, "Wonderful Copenh a g e n " , " C z e c h o s l o v a k i a n Dance Song", "Giannina Mia" and selections from Kismet, among others. Anyone over high school age who is interested in joining will be welcomed to rehearsals, which are held in the high school music room Monday evenings at 8 o'clock. Calif., by her cousin, Fr. Doyle, in St. Matthias church. Educators To Be Offered Special Course Jan. IS Teachers and others interested in preparing for elementary education may register for the course, Science for Teachers, at its first meeting Tuesday, Jan.- 26, at 3:30 p.m. at McHenry Junior high school. This course is offered by National College of Education, Evanston. The class will meet every Tuesday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. and will carry three hours of credit. Dr.. Helen Challand, head of the Science department, National College, will be the teacher. ADVERTISING PAYS LUNCHEON MARKS 100th MEETING OF LOCAL HOBBY CLUB The Hobby Twelve met Jan. 12 at the home of Mrs. Gertrude White to celebrate their one hundreth meeting with a special luncheon and an anniversary cake. The group, consisting of twelve members, was organized Jan. 18, 1955, and meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. until 4 o'clock. These are twelve talented people who like to do crafts work, etc. Each member, brings new ideas to work on besides making hats and dresses. Their newest project is 1 making pictures from seeds, • peas and rice. In the summer or early fall a trip is. planned to visit various places such as antique shops, gift shops, department stores or anysplace where new ideas may be found. At Christmas, a party is planned, with pot-luck dinner, and - "Secret Pal" names are revealed. Gifts are exchanged which must be made by the members. The members are Mrs. Vee Switzer, G. ORGANIZE CAMERA CLUB IN McHENRY EARLY NEXT MONTH Between forty and fifty local camera fans are expected to be in attendance to organize a Camera club on Tuesday evening, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Kotalik Camera center, 117 N. Riverside Drive. Anyone interested in photography is urged to attend and discuss the future of the organization. Guest speaker at the meeting will be Emmett Barden, dean of the Chicago Daily News photographers, who will also help in the organization of the club. Meetings will be held once a month, with experts in the field of photography present to explain the various details of taking pictures and developing.
