Women's Club Nominating Committee The following is a list of the women on the nominating committee for the Lakeland Park Women's club: Chairman Carol Humann and her committee consisting of: Joan Krater. Dolores Rogers. Audrey Ellmer. and Jessie Mathews. Election will take place at the April meeting so let's get a real good slate of ^officers for the jobs in this organization too. Nomihations will be taken all the rest of the month of February and the whole month of March j and also nominations can be j made from the floor the night . of the April meeting when elections will take place, but let's try to get all the names on the ballots before the meeting itself. It makes for better voting and much less confusion. i Wheels Club A gfoup of very energetic couples who have named themselves the "Wheels Club" went holler skating on Jan. 30. They started the evening at the home of Ed. and Carol Altmann and they with the following went on to have a great time: Norb and Murphy Kwiatek. Bill and Betty Walker, Roy and Dorothy Meineke, Fritz Walter and Barbara Laceyese of Chicago Bill and Marge Casey, Rose Kluk and Ann Borovec and Ken and Ginny Cognac. After they were quite tired out they all returned to,,the Altmanns' home where they were served coffee and cake. If anyone wants to join in on the fun with this group they can do so by getting in touch with any of the above. They will be glad to include you in their evening of fun. It's A Boy Gosh, our population is being increased quite rapidly lately. This time Mr. and Mrs. Dom. Giacomo are the proud parents of a baby bov bom on Sunday. Jan. 31 at the Woodstock hospital and tipping the scale at 6 lbs., 12 ozs. He will answer to the name of Mark Peter. Big brother. Tommy, and sister, Lynn, were quite thrilled with the new addition. Mr. and Mrs. Hinrichs of Lakeland Shores are also parents of their first child a baby boy born on Feb. 5 at Harvard hospital Little Gary John weighed 7 lbs., 1 oz. at birth. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George I^oewe pf Parkway avenue in Lakeland Park and his aunt and'uncle are Mr. and lWrs. W. Schaedel are residents of Lakeland Park also. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moran are the parents of their first little girl after four boys. Tins little lady made her entrance at St. Theresa hospital in Waukegan on Jan. 25 and tipped the scale at 6 lbs., 8 ozs. The four brothers waiting when mother returned from the hospital are1 Frank. Mike, Pat and Tom. Another girl bowed into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mueller on Feb. 4, at the Harvard hospital. This young lady, who will answer to the name of Wendy Ann weighed in at 8 lbs., 3 ozs. There is one other little girl at home Kathv age 2%. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Hagen now have a little boy born on Feb. 6 at the Woodstock Memorial hospital. Little Michael weighed in at 8 lbs., 10% ozs. He will be spoiled by his four big Sisters Mary, Patty, Therese and Mickey. In Hospital As many of you may already have ' heard by now Gayle Laursen was taken quite il^l last Thursday afternoon with terrific pains in her back and legs and she has been confined to the McHenry hospital ever since where she has undergone a series of tests to find out the trouble. As of this writing no results of the tests but we are Happy Birthday To Cathy Humann who celebrated her sixth birthday on Jan. 16, and to little sister, Donna Hurnann, celebrating her fourth birthday on Feb. 3. Mother Carol has had birthday favors for quite some time but due. to the children being ill with colds and flu we're afraid birthday parties will have to be {kit off urtfU- next year. To Debbie Gladman, age 7. who celebrated her birthday on Jan. 31. with,a party for the following grotip of children: Alisa Sweeney, Cindy Kujak, Debbie, Joann and Darlene Gladnah, Donald and Arient, Panr and Patty Laursen, Patty ..Hagen arid one little girl friend, Kiitoberly, whose last name monv Dorthea could not remember and then mothers, Mickey Gladman and Gayle Laursen joined in on the celebration. Junior Teen Club On Wednesday, Feb. 3 the junior 'Teen Club held their elections and following is a list of the boys and girls who will be the officers for this year: President - John Hickey; v i c e-president - Jim Kujak, secretary - Sandy Bucaro and treasurer - Judy Reining. Baby Shower A baby shower was held for Mrs. Rae Burns on last Thursday evening and the ladies who came and brought lovely little things were: Josephine Street, Eileen Hautzinger, Jean Kruse, Rosemary Hales, Mary Barle and Claudia Gam. The hostess for the evening was Mrs. Helen Hansen. Surprise Birthday A surprise birthday party was held last Saturday night at the community house for about thirty boys and girls honoring Dianne Koerper who was 17 on Feb. 10 and Bonnie Bucaro who was 15 on Feb. 4. All who .attended had a wonderful time and enjoyed the buffet spread of ham sandwiches, potato chips, etc. Lots ,o( dancing was done and all in all the boys and girls really had quite an enjoyable evening. ADMIT 1,500 PATIENTS In last week's article concerning the increase of patients in McHenry hospital last year, the figure of 1,000 was mentioned. The number should have read 1,500. Captain Parfrey was an artillery officer in the Korean campaign. The picture? showed how he and his crew were plotting missions tor the main line of resistance. The captain is how with the Marine Reserves and a civil service employee with the Far East Agency (Latin America) in Washington, D. C. Edward Parfrey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Parfrey. He and his family live in Alexandria, Va. Engagement The engagement of Miss Kathleen Sweeney has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel R. Sweeney.' Miss Sweeney will become, the bride of Thomas Boyd, son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Paul Boyd of Chicago.
