In recent weeks several emergencies have ariseh Svhich could have been takdare of promptly and with little' or no publicity involved. McHENRY GARAGE Doing wtfat they had done for many Sundays previous, turned out quite differently for the Kobus' and several neighborhood children. Sal and Helen had beeri taking their family and their friends tobogganing in Round Lake ever since there was enough^snow for this favorite sport. Valentine's day proved quite different however, when they had a bad accident. Helen was going down the hill with her daughter. Kandy, in the front position followed by Mary and Michael Anderson and Carol Kuntz when they plowed into a group of people standing ' in their path. Kandy caught the full brunt of .the impact against another toboggan on her. face: After much confusion and not being able to find a doctor sh^, was rushed to. Condell Memorial hospital in Libertyvilie The cut was deep, to the bone and required about seventy Stitches to close. Kandv remained in the hospital for five days and had to be content with a liquid diet but at this writing is progressing very well. She gave her parents some anxious hours but responded quickly to treatment. We are thankful that it's over and hope Kandy will soon be good as new. Another hospital patient last week was Tommy Fry. His tonsils were removed and he came through with the proverbial "flying colors". As a matter of fact the Frys spent a good part of last week in the hospital. Bernice had to go back a couple of times for further treatment after her operation. Let's hope this is an end to all theip sickness.
