Plans April Program St. Mary'§ P.T.A. will hold a meeting at 8 p.m. at the school hall on Monday, April 4, for which an interesting pre gram is planned. Musical Program For Woman's Club CHORALAIRES TO PRESENT PROGRAM AT BIBLE CHURCH The next regular meeting of the McHenry Woman's club will be held April 8 at 1 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Peter M. Justen, who is chairman. The program will include organ selections by Jeanne Randolph and vocal solos by Adele Froehlich. The club will sponsor a dessert card party and bake sale on April 20 at 1 o'clock at the V.F.W. home for the benefit of the swjmming pool fund and the mental health program. Motbers' Club To Meet Early St. Patrick school Mothers' club will hold their April meeting one week earlier. The group will meet on April 5. at 2:45 in the church hall. Mothers of second grade children will serve, with Ardelle Smolzer as chairman: Last month the club en.ioyed a m'nstrel show, with students of St. Patrick's taking part. The program consisted of an acrobatic dance by , Colleen Ooherty and an accordion selection by Richard Harms. Charlene Reid and Mary Pat Mrachek gave a demonstration of baton twirling. Terry Huck entertained^ with appropriate songs of the season. She was accompained by Kathy Bolger at the piano. Mary and Terry Larkin and Charlene Klapperich gave a novel acrobatic dance. Bemadine Reid and Carl Ann Zimny gave a rifle drill, complete with costume. Judy Conway did a modern dance. Judy Hay and Betsy Kilday were stage managers and Grace Weber, Ross Hyghes and Kathy Powers were announcers. The Choralaires, a twentyfive vocie group from the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music, Grand Rapids, Mich., will present a musical program at the Wonder ^ake Bible church on Monday, April 4, at 8 p.m. Wendell Babcock. director of the choralaires, will offer a 'well-roimded program of sacred classics, Negro spirituals, and "gospel &bngs arid hymns of the church. Included within the group are several small groups such as trios and quartets. The Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music has been training men and women for various types of Christian work for fourteen years. Graduates are now serving in the United States and on the major mission fields of the world. The public is cordially invited to attend. Christen Daughter Of Thofpps E. Smiths The little daughter of Mr. and .Mr?. Thomas E. Smith of Woodstock was christened Kimberly Ann at a baptismal service in St. Mary's Catholic church in Woodstock Sunday afternoon. CANCER SOCIETY CAMPAIGN WILL BEGIN APRIL 18 „ The McHenry County American Cancer society held its first meeting recently to plan the 1960 campaign. In attendance were included A. C. Drummond, executive chairman; Dr. O. E. Nelson, vice-chairman; Mr«. Arthur McCullough, crusade chairman; Mrs. Ramond Gathman, publicity chairman; Barbara Hill, secretary. The campaign will start April 18 and it is hoped that it will be completed in two weeks. On March 23, the area crusade meeting was held in Rockfoi* d, with representatives of fifteen c o u n t i es attending. Main speaker for the day was Dr. John A. Rogers, executive director for cancer control. Another guest was Harry H e m i n g w a y , 1 9 6 0 C r u s a d e chairman for the state <rf Illinois. who. said, "Properly informed volunteers cannot help but become dedicated volunteers.. There are 100,000 crusade- volunteers in this state". During the luncheon, Pr. Nelson was given special recognition for the many positions he has held on the cancer program throughout the years.
