Since the wind was over 10 miles an hour, no record could be recorded. An example of this was when Mike Creighton won the 120 High Hurdles in 16.35, which was one second under the record, but could not be accepted as a new record. Mike also won the 180 Low Hurdles (21.4) and the High Jump (5* 6"); second in the High Jump was Hintz. Ron Freund won the 100 Yd. Run in 10.8; second was Dedla of Grant, and third was Bishop | Yd. of Grant. Jay Walkington won the 880 Yd. Run in 2:19.8, Jim Hanson of McHenry was second and Stcwert of Grant third. Another Pony League seasorris ready to g^t under way.' We are very fortunate this year to have a new addition to our officers in Robert Newkirk, and at the same time we are sorry to lose Bart Yegge, who was one of the original group to start Pony League in McHenry. We cannot thank Bart enough for all the time he spent'with the boys and the good work that he accomplished for Pony League. The applications have been placed at the schools the same as we have done in other years. We hope that every boy graduating from Little League will come over and join us in Pony League. Later, he went on to Win the high jump (5- 8"). Toni Creighton won the 880 Run (2:11), with Jay Walkington second, a n d Jim Hanson third. Tom Creighton, Ed Samen, Roger Zahn, and Mike Creighton won the Mile Relay in 3:46; which is only 4 seconds from the record. A superior job was done by Ron Thoma in the Mile. He moved from last place to first, winning with a time of 5:11; Jay Walkington was second, and Jim Hanson third. Ron Freund won the 220 Yd. Dash followed by two Grayslake men. His time was (24:1).
