McHenry will be host to this meet for the first time. The Frosh-Soph meet will be held Monday, May 23 at 3:30 p.m., and the Varsity meet will be held on Wednesday, May 25 with the preliminaries at 6:30 p.m. and the finals at 8 p.m. This will be the first time the varsity meet has ever been held under lights, There will be an admission of 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for students. Several records are expected to be broken including the Mile and the High Jump. Rick Lally of Crystal Lake is the top contender for the Mile record of 4:42.8 set in 1938, he has already gone under this with a time of 4:38* which he ran at the Districts. The guest of honor and speaker of the evening was Coach Ray Beyers, famous and highly successful basketball coach at DePaul University the past 18 years. A winning smile, sparkling stories and sound advice blended to make Coach Meyers' talk most interesting. Leo E. If . 6 or more machines enter in one class, that class will be run. There will be 3 heats of 5 laps each for each class. The proceeds of this race will be given to the Mental Health Center for McHenry County. The McHenry Warriors baseball team went to Crystal Lake, Wednesday, May 11, and lost their first tournament, game 8-4. Bill DeCicco, who allowed eleven hits, got the loss.
