It is a most dangerous practice, a peeling auto is not under control and some child could be killed or injured. The only way to stop this is to report it to the proper , authorities. We are happy toPreport he is doing fine and is back home. Sea Explorers To Hold Fish Fry July 10 the Sea Explorers will hold a big fish fry at the community center. They have 110 fish they caught on their Memorial weekend outing and it will be a big affair. The senior Girl Scouts from Woodstock wli be their guests as will the parents, brothers, sisters and past Sea Explorers. The evening will include a big fish dinner, weather permitting a splash party and dancing. Plans For Highlands Carnival I'ndor Way Plans for the big carnival, sponsored by the association and assisted by the adult activities group, are making much headway. The big event is to be held August 4 through the 7. Through the kindness of John Thelen who has furnished the site for the event on his property on Route 12, right off the Highlands entrance, this affair is possible. It is hoped it will be well received and remember it is for your benefit. The profits are to be used"for road repairs. K News Briefs. The Kolstadts are from Western Springs and have a summer home on Fox Lake. Dotty Rodarmel spent last week visiting her sister in Indiana. Fritz and Sally Jo VonBreunchenhein and Fritz's parents enjoyed a two weeks vacation in a cottage in Wisconsin. Marcia Dowd took her parents to the airport last Saturday. They left for a visit to their daughters in Massachusetts. Joe Murray enjoyed a weeks vacation. The family spent a few days visiting with Joe's folks in Dolton and visited many of their friends in Chicago they had not seen for ages. Last Tuesday evening, June 28, the Boy Scuots, under the supervision of Scout Master Joe Murray, enjoyed a swimming party at the Palmer residence in Pistakee Bay. . The Joseph Karls family attended a f a m i l y reunion for Virginia's side of the family. The Rortvedt clan gathered at her parents' home in Sun Prairie, Wis., June 25 and 26. The Fourth of July weekend they spent in Niles, Michigan, visiting friends. Joe is feeling better and is looking real good. Martin and Hazel Rogde entertained thirty-seven members of Hazel's family at a pot-luck dinner on June 26. The guests were from Chicago. St. Charles, Maple Park, DeKalb and Gibson City. Dick and Haze Morley attended a wake in Mundelein. June 28. The mother of their brofhcr-in-law was fatally injured in an automobile accident. Congratulations to Don Dobecki who won third prize in the water color division at the McHenry art fair. He received a gold plaque. Jim Mclnernev is enjoying his second week of his vacation. While he is home he was v i s i t e d b y h i s b r o t h e r , T o m Mclnernev and family and also the Mclnerneys good friend, Maggie Sheppard and six children. Congratulations to Jack and Kay Rcilly who celebrated their seventeenth wedding anniversary of July 3. We hope you have many more. Joe and Lorraine Ullo entertained Lorraine's brother and family and sister and her family over the weekend. As you can see by the beginning of the column I have lost my partner in writing. I hope with your help I'll be able to do so. Mount Hope Church The sign raising was held on June 26 at the site of the new Mount Hope church. After the 11 a.m. service the congregation drove to the site and dedicated the sign with a brief prayer service. There was an official board meeting held June 27 at the community center. Nothing definite was decided. Communion will be held on Sunday, July 10 instead of the usual first Sunday of the month. There is Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and all youngsters are invited to attend. Morning worship at 11a.m. This Sunday the topic for the M.Y.F. group . will be "Growth In Our Idea Of God." There will be a filmstrip and discussion. Refreshments will be served and each one is asked to bring 15c. Pastor Bob Stine is the leader of this growing group and has. many interesting and exciting things planned for them. Highland Resident Marries Miss Neida Day was married to Chester E. Reichisky at 2:30 p.m. on July 3 by the Rev. Jack Mclntyre at Faith Presbyterian in Eastwood Manor. Best man was Albert Kirneauer of Norridge Park. The bride's niece, Jeanne Lessard was flower girl. Ushers were Raymond Lessard and Joseph Muno. Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held at the Day home. The bride and groom left on a two week honeymoon to the New England states and Niagara Falls. The evening began with a candlelight ceremony, followed by the awards earned by the girls throughout the year. Membership stars and World Association pins were given to second class rank girls: Mary Therese Sweeney, Sharon Wagner, Elaine Piasecki, Donna Buccaro, Mary Sullivan, Marion Rarle; Susie Laurence, Maureen Linnane, Barbara Muijrhy, and Valerie Franklin. These girls also received proficiency badges. Tenderfoot rank and Girl Scout pin World Association and membership pins were given to Alice SullivaagkBernadette Clove, Donna Kwratek and P a m Laurence. Honorary awards were given to Joanhe Rizzo and Sharon Leigh. Stork Shower A surprise shower in honor of the coming blessed event was given for Gert Krug on June 20. The, ladies met for c o f f e e and sweet r o l l s and brought loads of lovely little gifts. Barbara Malinowski was the hostess for the party and was assisted by Connie Giaco-^ mo, June Gilbertson, Lydia Ftadisch, Doris Schabow, Anita Davis, Laverne Okal and Josie Fonte in 'the surprise. On Thursday, June 30, the following ladies got together to help her celebrate the occasion: Millie Pintozzi, Dotty Becker, Dorothy Humphreys. Marge Franklin, Lee Glorch, Daisy Krupinski, Ruth Roach, Vickey Bottari and our hostess for the evening, Elaine Jett, who really had the table all decked out for us with candles and beautiful flowers. It's A Boy Mr. and Mrs. Harry- Cygan are the proud parents of their third child, .a boy. Little David Lee, who tipped the scale at 8 lbs., was born Monday morning, June 27, at 11:28 a.m. at West Suburban hospital. Anxiously awaiting the new arrival were his brother, Wayne, and sister, Lynn.
