JPislahee CtuL Last weekend the sailors and members of Pistakee Yacht! club were t he guests of Okau-1 chee Yacht club near Oeono- j mowoc. Wis., for the twelfth; annual Home and Home Re*j gatta. The two^Saturday races; and the Sunday race were • sailed in extremely high wind! velocities, ranging from 18 to j 30 miles an hour. There were! nineteen starters in the first j race, numerous boats tipped i and Sid Peterson, Jr.. lost his j mast. Wally Tarman of Okau-1 chee was the winner. The | second race was a real whist-! ler, several boats capsizing and one boat breaking a mast. Norman Reese of Pistak-ee outlasted the weather and came in first. The third race was held in as heavy air as the first, two. with Wally Tarman winning his second race of the three race series. Wally Tarman of Okauchee was the over-all winner of the three race regatta, with the balance of the places going on a fairly equal distribution to both lakes. For the first time, the junior sailors of both lakes met in a Cub Boat Regatta. Several casualties were experienced because of the wind, but Pistakee did much better than in the "C's". The over-all winner of the Cub Regatta was Danny Arkema, with Henry1 DeYoung and Ricky Looze, all of Pistakee, coming in second j and fourth respectively. j The usual warm hospitality I of the Wisconsin club's mem- j hers and sailors was evidenced i in the fine entertainment pro-! gram put on Saturday night j and the wonderful treatment j given all of the Pistakee memb e r s t h r o u g h o u t t h e e n t i r e course of the regatta itself. Next Saturday evening will be the annual Commodores' j Ball, honoring Mr. Mielenz, the \ present commodore, and his, wife, and all past commodores; who have served the c 1 u b j throughout the past sixty-three years of operation. This has always been a gala event and is extremely well attended. SOFTBALL NOTES Old Bridge hit 8 home runs in defeating Buss Motors 16 to 10.
