Try using an empty three-pound shortening can to store the dough for your refrigerator rolls. Q. How can I make my paintbrushes soft and pliable? A. Place the brushes in an old can and cover the bristles with vinegar, and boil for 15 minutes. Then you have your brushes ready for use again. Here's one good way of "battling the bulge"; slit the bulge with a razor blade and, using a knife, insert library paste thinned to a crcamy consistency. How can I ease the arduous job of ironing pleats In dresses? A. You should experience much less difficulty if you use some paper clips to hold each pleat in place. These can be slipned on and off quickly and easily, and leave no marks. O. How can I remove lipstick stains from garments? A. Soap will sometimes set a lipstick stain, so try sponging first with carbon tetrachloride, then wash in warm suds. If it's still there after this treatment, use hydrogen peroxide, -rinsing well afterwards. This applies to either white or colored fabrics. Q. When cooking, set a small pan containing vinegar and cloves on the stove, and allow to simmer. Its spicy aroma counteracts the cooking odors.
