In the face of Increasing demand, production will gradually level off as a result of declining availability of these fuels. "Coal can look forward to a significant growth during the remainder of the 20th century and will play a significant rote in the predicted major shift in the pattern of fuel consumption," Dr. Kisser said. Today the rapidly expanding electric power industry is the major user of coal. Because of the efficient use of coal for this purpose and its low cost, eliectric power will provide an increasing market in the future.
