The regular deadline of Monday at noon will be resumed the following week. •r Roscue Squad Calls Francis Palmer was taken by the rescue squad to the Mellon rv hospital for treatment following an accident which involved two cn'rs. The collision took place on Rt. 134 last Tuesday evening. Escaning with minor bruises was. Charles Hansen of Mc- Henry when the fuel truck he was driving overturned here last Friday evening. The firemen of station 2 were also railed out in case the many gallons of oil that spilled from the truck would catch fire. Hospital Patient Speedy get-well wishes to Mrs. John Weingart who was a hospital patient in Woodstock last week. Sewing Guild Meets On Tuesday, Nov. 15, a meeting of the Pink Ladies Sewing Gui'd was held at the home of Margaret Bolin. A luncheon was served with Lilah Jordan of north Fox street, acting as co-hostess. Other members present were: Celia Blake, Marion Carlson. Mable Martin, Isa Braenne all of McHenry, Esther Knapp, Nellie Bergener and Agnes Koman of Johnsbure: Marge Moreth, Viola Schuhle and Lorraine Lindemann of Pistakee Highlands. Two important wedding anniversaries were celebrated in one family and both on Nov, 14. Our very best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Jeppe Jepsen on their forty-eighth wedding anniversary and to their daughter and husband, Harvey and Wanda Palmer on their seventeenth anniversary. Sandy Meyers will be celebrating her natal day on Nov. 26. Belated wishes to Scotty Barth who was 2. Our very best is wished to one and all. Surprised at Home Several friends and relatives planned amid carried through a surprise party on Martin and Rosina Weber last Friday evening. The group gathered outside the Weber home and made lots of noise for a rousing charivari. Joining in on the festivities were: Herb Freund, Bertilla FreUnd, Lloyd OeffJing, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Freund, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Freund, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Freund, Mr. and Mrs. George Gilpin, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Freund, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Freund, Mr. and Mris. Wally Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith, Ronnie, and Marilyn, Mrs. Agnes Weber, Nancy and Harry and Lance Parks, Nora Miller and Bill Smith were unable to attend. Refreshments were brought and served by the group. This party honored the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Martin and Rosina. Hammershoy. The troop discussed Christmas, gift ideas. Newly-elected into office at this time were: Kathy Franke as president, Carol Ann Dehn as vice-president, Cheryle Patterson as secretary and Kathy Palmer as treasurer. Clean-up committee consists of Kathy Barth, Susan Roggenbach and Rosiland Hammershoy. Diane Hiller is custodian of the flag. A roller skating party for last Saturday was planned at this meeting. Betty Himplemann served as cookie hostess. The troops leaders and two of their committee women fire attending the girl scout training program. They are Marge Barth, Lois Anderson, Joan Wolcyznski and Alice Bieschke. Brownie troop 378 finished working on the corn necklaces at the last meeting. Th? girls worked a while on the proper presentation of the colors. Elaine Fail was welcomed into the troop at this meeting. Jean Hettermann served her cookie treat. Brownie and Girl Scout News Girl Scout troop 408 held their meeting Nov. 7, with a new girl by the name of Greta Martin in attendance. The troop finished their current p r o j e c t . R e f r e s h m e n t s w e r e brought by one of the troop's leaders. Troop 295 is currently working on tenderfoot training in preparation for the fly-up ceremony. Two new girls who recently joined the troop were Carla Martin and Rosiland Don't forget the early deadline next week! Home from Service Friends of Bill Huemann are real happy to see him around for good now. Bill has completed his service in Uncle Sam's army and was discharged last month. He, his wife, Judy, and their two sons are residing in Eastwood Manor. JOINS FRATERNITY Peter Reiland,, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Reiland, Rt. 2, McHenry, was recently pledged to the Drake university chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon. It is one of nine social fraternities on the Drake University campus. Reiland is a freshman at Drake studying in the college of business administration. Congratulations Corner Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Thiel were happy to have their family gathered around them last Sunday in celebration of their wedding anniversary. Belated birthday wishes to Kathy Lieser who turned six earlier this month. Bill and Lorraine Rutzen celebrated seven years of marital bliss on Nov. 14. On Saturday evening they were joined by Messers and Mesdames Perry Walker, Ray Albright, Don Freund, Pete Fischer, Frank May and Dick Boysen for dinner in Crystal Lake. About fifteen friends, relatives and his wife, Dorothy, feted Eric Steinbiss last Sunday in celebration of his birthday.
