Mrs. Moreth presented the association with a flag on behalf of, the Fox River V;F W. Secretary, treasurer gnd committee reports were read. A discussion was held concerning black topping. There, was also a brief discussion about the by-laws. Foster Glorch, vice-president of Lakeland Park, spoke to the group about the running of a successful association. He answered questions concerning roads, septic systems, dues and many other topics. The meeting was adjourned and coffee and cake were served. on April 15. It seems like a long way off bjit it will be here before you know it. The committee will gladly accept any knick-knacks, toys, dishes or any other things 1hat are stili useable. No clothing is being collected this year. There will be a bake booth, novelty booth, games and refreshments and other things too numerous to mention. Check off April 15 on your calendar. Hostess With the Mostcss That was Audrey Morin on Feb. 28 when she had a demonstration in her home. Guests for the evening were Pat Jackson, Hazel Rogde, Rose Farwell, Shirley Johnson, Carol Haubold, Joyce Froney, Dot Finger, Raina Betz and Luana Christensen. Shower A baby shower was held on March 7 at the home of Barbara Sisk in honor of Sally Jo VonBruenchenhein. In on the surprise were Blanche Haefliger, Cris Sorenson, Carla Bales, Wanda Dobecki, Tina O'Mally, Betty Sandelin, Virginia Thoren, LaVerne Sarver, Mrs. George VanZevern, Mary Seldon, Terry Ozminski, Jean Sherman and yours truly. Blue and Gold Dinner The Cub Scouts birthday party held on Feb. 26 was well attended by the Cubs and their families. A turkey dinner was served to approximately 160 persons. After the dinner there were a few speeches and pins and certificates of thanks were presented to Lorraine Hurckes, Rosemary Lutz, Gladys Mayer, LaVerne Jost, Joyce Heir, Hazel Morley, Gladys Jones and Ginny Emmerich. A movie was shown afterwards. Johnsburg P.T.A. The nominating committee is busily selecting a slate of new candidates for office nexlr-year. They will present the names at the March meeting. I would like to remind you of the Fun Fair to be held at the school Around the Highlands Mr. and Mrs. Moreth spent last Saturday visiting with M a r g e ' s s i s t e r , E l i z a b e t h Schmidt. Happy birthday to Billy Hurckes who will be 2 years old on March 12. He will have a little party in honor of the big day. Renee Janqfuart was home sick with the flu last week. Pat and Ron Jackson and family spent last Sunday in Chicago visiting with Pat's mother and sister. On Feb. 28, Anna Cohrs, Blanche Haefliger and Kay Sieliseh were guests of the Crystal Lake Women's club. They enjoyed refreshments after a fine program. Hazel and Martin Rogde were pleased to have their daughter, Pat, visiting last Sunday. Don and Wanda Dobecki, Dot and Jack Erbin and Reb and Barb Sisk indulged in a hot card game last Saturday at the home of Jim and Carla Bales. It's a little early but I don't want to forget to wish Mrs. Haddock a happy birthday. It isn't until the end of March j but if I don't write it up now I'm sure to forget it. My sympathy to the Mc- Inerneys on the recent death of a sister-in-law. Mrs. Mc- Inerney was the wife of Jim's brother Joe. Services were held in Chicago. Jim anl Sue Barrett and sons, Ross, Keith and Craig, were dinner guests at our home last Sunday. A special happy birthday to my buddy, Lee Conway, who will celebrate her birthday on March 13. March 10 Michael Rogers will be 7, and on March 11. Sonny Charbonnier will be 17. March 13 will be shared by Lynn Kellogg and Sam Anderson when they celebrate their fourth birthday. March 14, Laura Kellogg will be 6 and on March 15 Cynthia Iverson will be 5. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. John Coughlin are the proud parents of a new baby boy. First prize was won by Marilyn Truckentarod, travelling prize by Nancy Lessard and booby prize went to Lois Krebs. This and That Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Ryan had a birthday dinner for little Brenda Lee Ryan on Sunday, Feb. 26. Brenda's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wonsik and Mr. and, Mrs. Ryan were there to help her blow out the three candles on the cake. Others who sang the best wishes for her were her aunt, Gertrude Lynn, and her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson. It was a double surprise party at the Campbell home on Saturday, Feb. 25. Lena Campbell told Delores Woolwine that the party-was for Lonnie Campbell and Lonnie told it was for Delores Woojwme. You guessed it, it was for them both. A farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Ron Tinsley was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milt McHale on Saturday, Feb. 25. Though the Tinsley neighbors hate to see them leave, they were all there to wish them good luck in their new home in Dayton, Ohio. Scouts at Work on Scout-O-Rama Exhibit Ted Beahler's garage on Sunset drive was the scene of busy preparation for the upcoming Scout-O-Rama as our Boy Scouts started their project. The activity was in charge of Richard Wolf, as Senior Patrol leader. Scouts who answered roll call at 2 p.m. were Kenny Ehrhardt, Dick Heckmann, "Irish" DeCicco, Tom Para, Sam Kisla and Dave Heckmann. It is hoped that those Scouts not answering roll call will come up with an acceptable excuse because their help will be sorely needed.
