Smith, A., A. Adanjs, J. Wakitsch, L. Freund, W. Ulick and Richard Dehn. Special and honored guests " attending were Rev. and Mrs. Jack Mcintyre of Faith Presbyterian church, which sponsors the pack; Fr. C. Anger of St. John's Catholic church of f)hnsburg; Lee Whetherhult i s t r i c t commissioner; Mr. Hosie, neighborhood commissioner; and Fred Durrenberg, Explorer Scout. The tollowing awards were presented to the different Cub Scouts by Cubmaster Lynn Stuart: Wolf badges, Keith Butler, Ricky Wool wine, John and Michael Schmidt, Billy Urban, Tom Burton and Tom ^akitsch; Bear badges. Jim Vyduna, Pat Kelly and Bob Roggenbuck. Douglas Taylor earned two Silver Arrows and Richard Fredricks advanced from Weblos and graduated into Boy Scouts. New Bob Cats coming into Pack 454 were Mark Stephenson and Paul DeCarlo. SHALES Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church for Glenn S. Shales, 66, of 401 Golf road, Arlington Heights, who died of a heart attack on March 14. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was born in Cary Sept. 15, 1894, a son of Joseph and Effiei Crabtree Shales. He was a retired stock and bond trader for Carter Harrison Bond Brokers of Chicago. Mr. Shales married the formed Theresa Barbian on June 28, 1919, at St. Mary's church, McHenry. Before her death on Oct; 30, 1960, they had lived in DesPlaines • for t h i r t y-four years. The deceased was a member of the American Legion post, Woodstock. Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Shales, of Rockford; a daughter, Marjorie Hune, of Arlington Heights; a brother, Harry, of Crystal Lake; two sisters, Mary Shales of Woodstock and Ruth Henderson of Edis,on Park; also seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel O'Cock. FRED W. STRAHL Last rites were conducted Thursday afternoon from the Peter M. Justen funeral home for Fred W. Strahl, who resided on Rt. 31, south of McHenry. Interment was private. Mr. Strahl was born March' 29, 1885, in New~-York~ City and was a retir|ed machinist.
